This was a site where I was unsure at present but then as we left I felt really sad to leave. This shows how good a site it was and how much we enjoyed the area. This ranks quite highly on our list of best sites for a variety of different reasons. Great camping in France.

I can see why you said you wouldn’t go back. Some parts looked decidedly tired, the table tennis tables covered in leaves for one and as you say the toilets under par. For a 5* site the toilets should be immaculate. The pool and lake do look amazing though.
I love Maisie she’s sooooo pretty 😍
Looks like you had a great time and the campsite and views look great.
Reminds me a bit of when we used to go to France every year before we started caravanning when we rented a gite.
One thing we looked at was location too as we like to go and visit places eg Chateaux , beaches , vinyards and those cheesy places that sell cheese, lol.
Thanks for the video
Thumbs up from me 😀
Thanks for comment. Yes we used to be a go to site and do nothing now we get out and about. Our video next week will be about visting the local town twice which was stunning. What is your favourite French site?

We haven't caravanned in France. When we used to go (annually around 20 yes ago) we would typically drive from the N.E. to Kent and meet my parents who had their car (who live a mile away from us), get the fast ferry (30 minute (catamaran to Bologne Sur Mer when it used to run, prior to that Hovercraft to Calais and a few times ferry to Dover or Dunkirk) while parents took the tunnel, meet them again at one of the Aires. We would then convoy down to the Brit Hotel near Le Mans (i remember small lizards running up and down the walls). After a continental breakfast then went on to whichever area we were staying in usually a Gite in the Loire area and once in the countryside NE of Paris near the border. Places we stayed included a house built into a cliff with the bare cliff as the rear wall and rear ceiling, a secluded farmhouse owned by a British couple on a narrow country road with a small river and beaver dam yards away and a heated outdoor pool opposite with a French pre war bicycle painted blue at the walled entrance and a Hoopoe bird occasionally standing on top of the wall. Beside that was a barn where there were bats and owls.
Last year we took our previuos caravan to Glenbar where you step out of the caravan and onto the beach which was an 8 hour trip via Glasgow and past lochs , mountains, forests along the notoriuos A84 with some hair raising narrow places with mountain on one side and loch/sea on the other. We returned a few weeks later arriving in the dark for a 6am ferry from Campbeltown to Stranraer via Arran to avoid the A84 and the huge log carrying HGVs
Really good video mate. We have looked at this site a few times including this year. We booked to go to Les Alicourts again ( 1st time we have done our main site twice) but may go to lac de leiz in the future.
Keep up the good work and edits mate.

Thank you for your positive comment. It's a canny site.I would guess it's not a patch on Alicourts but also not near tha price. We have considered Alicourts but not ever managed to have the money to stay at that site.
Do you have a link to the campsite? Looks great 👍
Thanks for the comment, hope you are well. You still getting away in the van? I have added the link in the comment at the top.
What are you cooking on outside your caravan ?
Hi Nial, We used a cadaver which is quite a big thing but for longer trips like this and with 5 of us was ideal to be fair.
Thanks for getting back to me, we are family of 5 also.

Thank you my friend.
