  • If you step into a newly built school these days, chances are they look very different to your childhood classroom.
Instead of a standard classroom with four walls, you’re likely find a large room that contains two or three classes, with no wall to separate them, and ample room for teachers and students to move between the ‘classroom’ spaces.
Watch host Kat Clay in conversation with Senior Associate Anika Stobart, and Education Researcher Brigitte Garbin, about how open-plan classrooms might be harming our children's learning.

My son goes to an open plan public School, and his capacity of understanding what he is reading in the class is almost impossible, the Teacher told me that there are many children who are having the same issue.
It is so hard to learn at Schools nowadays.

I moved my son to a more traditional school after two years stuck at an open plan school. He is neurodivergant so it was hell for him. After years of complaints they set aside a space for SN students...they cleared out the music cupboard for them to sit in. I wish I was joking. Oh yeah and handed them little cardboard things to put around their work space as if that's helpful
