    Me and my husband (he proposed on Koh Tao) ended up retning the first two stories house in sairee hut resort for three weeks, two years ago. Was nice to see that it still stands. ☺️
    Miss Koh Tao so much. Stuck in sweden. 😢

    Ko Nang Yuan is a small island very close to Ko Tao. It is famous for its diving spots and its great snorkeling beach.

    I appreciate that it is bad time for Thai's in the hotel and entertainment industry but what a time to be in Thailand and have the place to yourself. Lucky bar steward!

    Great watching, you're soooooo lucky lad. With not so many people you can venture where you're not really supposed to go, but in the interest in fair play I will keep watching to make sure you don't get into mischief....keep doing your stuff man. Bri and frei east Yorkshire.

    Go to La Jolla in San Diego. You can see literally 6+ feet (in depth) of sand disappear and reappear completely naturally from one day to the next. I saw this happen at Marine Street Beach.

    Hi I'm from the future in Feb 2024. Still an amazing place to visit although they don't allow boat shoes so had to walk barefoot on the planks and up the hill to the viewpoint. Great snorkelling and even with 2k people a day, worth it. What an amazing world we live in.

    ST..that island is something out of a dream..lol..as much as I know the lack of tourism is hurting..it would have been amazing to have the island all to yourself. Not going to lie..the restrictions we have in Vancover is starting to bum me out..but seeing the vlogs really help to deal..Looking forward to the next Vid.

    When I was there in 2010 I didn’t see many people going out to Nang Yuan. I frankly don’t think there were even 10,000 tourists on Koh Tao. I’m curious to see how it has changed.
    Next time I’m there I think I’ll try to swim out to Nang Yuan, probably with snorkel gear.

    • @SideTripLife
      @SideTripLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No worries. IF (or rather when) Thailand incorporates and enforces all of one's 'desired' nanny state rules and regs same as 'back home', may as well just stay home then....(zzzz) In this case, yes, I belatedly saw some potential danger but could have just called the boat guy to come back. However, the challenge just added to the adventure and made it across just fine thx. Loved it actually! Cheers

    • @SideTripLife

      Yes, be careful renting bikes ANYWHERE (not just KT or Thailand;). But in this case, she charged just 150 baht ($5) delivered the bike to my hotel, then took time to point out any scratches etc (and asked me to film also:) . Then she gave safety instructions, took a photo of my Passport and off I went. Lovely lady, great service, superb price :):):)

The third time we were staying at Koh Tao and took a private boat early moring , then it looked like this ..EPIC !!! So, if anyone wants to visit in the future, take a private boat and go very early !!! Avoid the crowds !! !

    • @SideTripLife
      @SideTripLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, $60 for a cottage on an idyllic tropical isle paradise may seem a bit pricey but It's all relative. For example, pay a bit more in my home town and you might get a crappy motel 6... Or, instead of staying on that secluded exclusive island, stay at Sairee Beach opposite for less than $30 and enjoy dinner from $2 or less. There, sorted :)
