  • Today I am taking out an Invasive Sumac for Something Way Prettier, a Vanilla Strawberry Hydrangea. I chose the Vanilla Strawberry Hydrangea because it has red stems, giving it amazing winter interest for the garden. Sumac's aren't considered invasive in Colorado, but they pop up everywhere, even along highways, and have been popping up randomly in my garden so it had to go. I'm also planting a Baby Blue Colorado Spruce, something I've been wanting since I moved into this house. I feel like every Colorado garden should have some kind of Blue Spruce.

Great job. I've seen Garden Answer swear to never plant those things ever again! Love the "F" bomb too!!😂😂

And she is right. Ours was here when we moved in and they are native here. The pop up in between buildings and along the highways and spread so fast.
