Interesting that once tore down, the base looks like one of the more generic red international toys that weren’t numbered tractors. I have a soft spot fit those unnumbered generic ones. I’ve rescued a few broken ones, but have one now I need to split but can’t find a rivet spot. Maybe they were presses, unlike the higher quality numbered tractors? Nice work, and thanks for the ideas for making mine better.

That was very satisfying to watch, beautiful restoration, and yes I have run the real version of a 1456, ranks right up there with one of my favorite tractors!!

Yeah that's pretty neat nice job restoring it I have one but I can't play with it anymore because my hand is too big to fit through the window in the cab so I cannot steer it LOL

Nice restoration. I have this model from my childhood, but in worse condition, that I'd like to restore. Where do I source a set of stickers and a muffler?

Good work on the restoration, Once restored I would never give to a child to play with. It belongs on a display shelf NOT in the soil where real tractors exist

What size Machine nut did you use? Did it go right on or did you have to tap it. Building a 5020 John Deere right now. Are you bin Louisville ky?
