Is Chambercombe Manor The Most Haunted Place In Devon?
In this video we explore the haunted Chambercombe Manor and tell you the terrifying tales of its ghosts.
The William Oatway tale is exceptionally creepy but I have to admit I do wonder how they know that it is true, our tour guide told us that he had left a secret hidden confession that was discovered long after his death but I have failed to find any record of this online (please do let us know if you know anything more).

Thanks for watching our Halloween special (we will be back to our normal videos next week). I wanted to add that the estate is currently up for sale and depending on who purchases it may or may not be open for tours in the future (I have put the trust's website link in the video description).
UPDATE - The estate has been sold and is currently no longer open to the public (Dec 2023)

When I visited I was overwhelmed with the smell of perfume then it just vanished. When I got on the coach to leave my hat smelt of it then it vanished after 10 mins. Really weird.

What is a wrecker?

It the sense of a ship wrecker in this tale, they intentionally enticed ships towards the rocks (or another danger) in order to 'wreck' the ship and would then plunder the cargo when it washed up on the shore.
