I see both sides of the debate on the Pixlings unboxing gimmick. I would love it if you could buy one reusable bottle (that comes with a special doll) and then buy additional dolls in capsules that you could slot into that bottle to do the reveal gimmick. In this scenario, the dolls would come with refills of the Pixling Power Elixir, as well as their own little charms for the potion.
What I also loved about Whats Her Face is the creativity extended to the furniture and accessories as well. I had a Whats Her Face bed that was a bath when you flipped it over, and had an attachable shower curtain that you could draw on too. It's also the first doll I owned that used wigs. I was obsessed!
I miss launching my old sky dancers at the ceiling in my parent's first house and at my grandma's and I absolutely remember using these in the stairwell of my parent's 2nd house after we moved because the ceiling went 2 floors high, so much fun! Also I had a what's her face doll and I kind of had 2 since I used to play with my cousin's all the time, the faces weren't that hard to stamp on honestly once you got the hang of it and it was so easy to clean, you just had to be careful, but I can see how that might be a bit difficult for a lot of kids. I can't relate though, as a kid, I was living my best life with my what's her face doll going on so many adventures with so many new characters and looks all of the time. Absolutely loved that doll, I would LOVE to find her but I'm almost 100% sure my parents gave her away.
I got a RH color and create (watercolor) doll and made her into my main character (the girlie whos my icon rn) i didnt use any of the watercolors that came with the kit but she sparks so much joy like YESSS thats my character thats my girl shes a real doll now!!!
The Winx Sing and Sparkle dolls sound really really cool, and I’m sad that the Disney princess dolls I have don’t have that much interactivity, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there are Disney Princess dolls that do. It’s so cool that you can change the instruments and music on the singing Winx dolls, and I might look into them more because I love singing dolls.
I was the one who brought up What's Her Face. I had a couple of them growing up. And I also enjoyed chewing on Betty Spaghetti hair. I'd love it if she made a comeback.
Regarding the Alice doll, like you I didn’t really consider her a gimmick doll, but I can definitely see why people would have mentioned her because she definitely is. And I totally agree - it’s a really cool, well executed gimmick! Though I also agree that her price was nonsensical.

My friend’s sister’s sky dancer doll hit their mom in the face so she could only play with her in her room alone after that. The unboxing process for Magic Mixies was sooo difficult for me but I have problems opening things to begin with 😂 I think the Style Baes are probably ending since I’ve seen them at Ross for under $10. If I were a kid I would have loved them because I loved paper dolls as a kid. I love the Alice collector doll (though why couldn’t they include white tights?!), I think her face looks better than the Disney Store one and yes she comes with the white rabbit’s house, it’s so darn cute!! It’s my favorite scene from the movie so of course I have her 😄 Wow I’ve never seen the Design your own Bratz doll line, I think that’s much better than the tween dolls since the Bratz ones are more neutral. Haha you just said close to the same thing 😂 What a fun idea for the Polly Pocket House of Style! Sadly the Fidgie Friends got canceled 😞 I have seen them at Ross lately if they’re no longer available at Walmart or Amazon. Those Candylocks dolls make me want cotton candy 😅
I feel like that could be a good gimmick for dolls that are around American girl size! Fashion dolls are so tiny haha I feel like it would be so hard at that scale but the bigger dolls…heck yeah
Maybe Rainbow High could make dolls like that because they have bigger proportions instead of making those Crystal Fashion gimmick dolls with resin especially when they're aiming at younger kids. Haha😂
I love this series!!! If you ever need any video ideas you should totally do a little video on doll hair gimmicks and how they rarely work/ how hard they are to exacute perfectly. Anyway I love your videos ❤
My daughter had so many sky dancers when she was little in the early 1990s. In fact she had over a 100 Barbie dolls by the time she was 4 years old back in 1989. She was loaded with cabbage patch dolls and so many other things that I can't remember. She was my only child and she died in a car accident in 2017😢
My older sister had the quick click runway where you would load up an outfit and the curtains would close while it clicked onto the doll so they were runway ready
6:47 😂😂😂 I watch all of your videos on 2x speed. Pretty much most videos that I watch are on 2x speed. I will try to show my husband a funny part of a video and he has to tell me to please slow it down. I’ve just gotten used to it all being fast. There aren’t enough hours in the day to watch everything I want to watch.
I can tell none of the people who voted in this have ever tried the rainbow high gimmicks. Rainbow high color and create series 2 had the worst functioning gimmick out of all of the gimmicks rainbow high has done. You have to use all of the powder to get the pigment to stick, making it effectively a one time gimmick. And even then its pastel. The dye is similar to tie dye powder. Meanwhile the markers can be reused over and over just as advertised. People who have tried it universally preferred the markers to the powder. :/ They are great base dolls for custums. I have the whole line for just that.
omg the Betty Spaghetty, I completely forgot that I HAD the cat! no idea what happened to it cause this was over 20 years ago now, but I do have an oddly vivid memory of an older girl at the childminder I went to back then fashioning a little paper box litter tray for the cat 😂 also if you just want the hair texture without a whole doll, it looks to be the same or at least very similar to "scoubidous" - idk about over there but they were a MASSIVE craze when I was a kid, usually made into keyrings or friendship bracelets - I think I still have some of those stashed away because they make for such a good fidget (though I only really know two of the basic "stitches")
I had the What's Her Face doll in the picture, and it is my duty to inform everyone that the bunny ears had a very satisfying mouth feel. Also, the face stamp template kinda sucked. As an adult collector, i would love to have them back in my life. As a kid, the face stamps were the least interesting part of the doll because they always looked wonky. Or maybe im a perfectionist. I don't remember anyone else being disappointed by it, but sometimes they were Smudge Her Face dolls. The magnetic skirt was genius, and i think we should bring that back. I would love to see something like that on a Sunny Madison doll, or maybe Decora Girlz. The magnets were super small and weak, so i can't see it being a massive safety hazard.

I enjoyed the pixling potions the first 3 times. Beyond that, I've found it more difficult to justify them because of the gimmick. If the dolls could be bought separately at a price that doesn't include the cost of the potion bottle gimmick, I'd have them all. I currently have 7, i wait for them to be $12 or less.
I just looked it up, and there is literally a singing doll called Sing and Sparkle Ariel, but I don’t know if she is the same type of doll or how much she does since I don’t have that version.
Magic Mixies the dolls are fine but i hate the containter Was It FUN? sure for the 4 minutes it takes to color wash the doll I would rather buy the doll outright for $5 each. the gimmic is the worst part of the doll. I dont think the dolls are worth the price and you get a worthless containter that made up half the price to just trash. Who is collecting Magic Mixies and why? i just see it as a waste of money for a very Okay dolls
