It made me slightly weepy. The love and care that went into the dollhouses is there. I also love that even after the parents are long gone, each of these communities takes care of the houses. Even after people are gone, these cities look after their own.

I have a wooden dollhouse kit, certainly not this scale, actually a 12:1 scale, 12 real inches equals 1 inch when reproduced (not a doll house builder, or collector, although i've owned this kit many many years) this inspires me you get it out, and I may not see who has the doll house, I would hope one of four granddaughters would take it.

I lost my little girl to a rare disease, her grave is very beautiful. My 2 great grandparents bought the plot in 1896. My family is there and my husband and I have our headstones placed next to our only child, Amy. Losing a child is the worst

In my homestate of Alabama, there is a cemetery where a little girl passed away from diphtheria or something like that. Her father also built her one slightly bigger out of brick which had awnings. Her tomb is inside. People from all over the U.S. travel to our state to visit it. Her parents graves are in the "yard" part outside the house. Story goes, she always wanted a playhouse and died before it was finished. Now she in resting in peace inside her playhouse. So sad!
It is the Lynette Cemetery in Lynette, Alabama and the little girl was called Nadine. I want to say she died in the 1940's.

Her location is marked on Google maps. I'm in Mississippi. I may travel there to see it.
Saw that grave on another TH-cam channel. She died in 1933, just before Christmas. Her toys are inside the little house.

I have seen a lot of unusual graves, stones, epitaphs, and things on graves but you find even more. There is no right or wrong way to mourn. When it comes to children it's totally heart wrenching. Thank you for the special way you share what you find.

You do a wonderful job. I'm here is northern kentucky 12 miles south of Cincinnati. You might want to check out Grant's Lick, Campbell County, ky for the Oakland Cemetery. Daniel Boone's sister, Rebecca and brother Nathaniel are buried behind the church. Alot of the Daniel family are buried there as well. They were friends of Squire Boone and where Daniel Boone got his name. My direct line. Very interesting history out there.

@@Whittdocs Carter Co. We went 14 days without power. I can't believe how many trees are still down. It took us 4 full days to clean up all the damaged trees on our property. Love seeing and going along for the ride on your adventures. Fascinating for sure.

I have a friend who lost a nephew a few days before his first birthday to a car accident just a month or two ago. It was heartbreaking to hear the news, especially since I knew the little guy since he was born.

I lost a child 25 years ago in June, this is very heart touching. Unfortunately the cemetery my daughter is buried in doesn't allow anything above ground, meaning no tall headstones ect... so thank you, this is very close to my heart ❤

But the houses themselves are charming and in one way happy. These children gave joy in life. Their monuments reflect that also as well as the pain of their passing. BTW I really appreciate the way you give respect to the deceased. Yes this represents someone's worst day. The graveyard where my husband is buried was vandalized by bikers. The pulled down grave stones and pried off pictures. So very sad. Why do they think compounding pain is fun?

You definitely have a way with words, sir. It doesn't matter how long ago the deaths were, it's still sad because, as you stated, these graves represent the worst day in someone's life.....that choked me up. That's so true and always will be true, no matter how much time passes.

Hey did you hear about that grave down in Natchez? Can't remember the kids name, but she was afraid of storms, and her mom hated the idea of her being alone in a storm, so she had her grave made into like a cellar of sorts and it had a window so she could sit beside her, see her and read to her and stuff whenever a storm started blowing in.
Just the thought, you're sitting in a dark stuffy cellar beside a grave underground. The storm is blowing overhead. You're sitting there beside a dead child, with merely a gas lantern as the rain pounds the iron door above you..I'm sure your voice sounds strange due to the acoustics.
It's so creepy, but you can't help but feel for the mother and understand why she did it.

@@Whittdocs the kids name was Florence Irene Ford in Natchez city Mississippi. You can find photos of it if you look it up. The window to see in was sealed off years ago after nobody was left to remember her and to prevent vandals, but the cellar aspect is still there. People put toys and trinkets for her in it.

The most beautiful one I’ve ever seen is in Alabama for little Nadine. It was build with brick by dad (Let me clarify I only seen it here on TH-cam).

The grave is under the doll house
I'm definitely a bereaving parent and I hold my daughter in her lookalike reborn baby doll because I can't get pregnant with another and I lost all 5 of my babies and all I wanted is to be a mother

There is nothing sadder than burying a child. My grandson passed at 10 weeks, it's the hardest thing I've ever endured, enduring..... The grief never leaves 🍂

@@M.C.Blackwell we're not welcome at his headstone, as we noticed what we placed was always missing. There's 1000 miles between us. I think in the whole picture, not paying our respects to him is the hardest. The generations from gen x into millennial is quite rough on family units. Some have no respect for those who came before them, unless your paycheck has enough figures in it. Another son was pulled in, those who live in glass houses really should keep the stones out of their hands. What matters, we all have ONE Judge at the end of the day. I will pass through with my head held high #TruthBeTold #AlienatedGrandparents

We lost our daughter Jessica at birth in 2003. Let me tell you, for a parent there is no feeling of helplessness like the loss of a child. We tried for 13 years to have a child. Went through all the testing and when my wife was told the additional testing would be very invasive, I asked her if she wanted to continue. She agreed not to continue and 6 months later, she was pregnant. We lost Jessica on December 23, 2003. She lived about 6 minutes! Jessica is now buried in my military plot at Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island in New York. My wife and I have stayed together and celebrated our 32nd anniversary this past May 6th.
My mother lost my beautiful baby brother at birth, she found out in labor he was gone, they didn't comfort her, she gave birth & never got to hold him, never got a birth certificate or a death certificate, they basically told her you didn't have time to love him, go home & go on in life 😡 this was early 70's, she mourns/deep depression every year around the time he was born. My heart breaks for her... rip baby boy Coy, I always called him Michael..
Wow I was born in 03, she would’ve been my age. Thats so terrible. I hope you heal from those experiences. You don’t deserve it. Rest In Peace 🙏🏾

It’s a sad story but it’s also a nice story because someone refurbished the house and is keeping it up in honor of the memory it would be nice to redo all of the headstones and all of the cemeteries that have been broken if there was a way to refurbish all of the headstones and all of the cemeteries that have gotten cracked or broken Keep up the good work I really love your channel

One can take solace in the fact that these little girls were obviously so loved by their parents. Thank you for sharing this.
My grandmother lost her first little 4 year old daughter on Christmas Eve 1940 due to illness. The doctor told them to give her the Christmas present since she would not make it. They buried her on Christmas Day. So very sad. She never really got over it. I’m glad we have cemeteries to place their name to remember it and honor them…so glad they really aren’t their, just the shell where they dwelt and they are truly will live on forever, hopefully with Jesus in heaven if they chose to follow Him.

There's one in a cemetery in Alabama which they say people from all over the world come to see
This touched my heart ❤ as a mom and grandma this brought tears to my eyes, and joy knowing there are such wonderful people who saved these houses in memory of these two little girls. It's amazing how history is shown and preserved in these doll houses 🥰
