My opinion on Samantha is if she was just a guitar player she would be a star, but then she could also make it as just a singer, and then last but by no means the least is her incredible song writing ability. She is a trifecta of talent. I'm a huge fan it's so refreshing to see true musical talent still exists in this day and age.
Samantha's playing is so clean and outta the box amazing. Creating her own tech, self taught and it sounding so incredible shows her musical genius. Definitely not garbage..We need more people like her making music. Great interview!
The last two years Samantha has grown leaps and bounds, her voice is sweet as Tupelo honey and her playing flows like Stevie Ray’s. I truly believe she is the newest Blues/R&B Queen, she is her own person but she reminds me of a young Bonnie Rait. The sky is the limit for her, such a classy lady too, she is dedicated to putting on a great show, dedicated to perfecting her craft, and always dresses with style and class, and last but not least, she is always in control of her mind and personality. Samantha is the total package, the Real Deal. Prayers and Best Wishes, she is a very special lady.

Garbage is something that is not useful and studying Ms Fish's right hand, I bet, is useful to, maybe, nobody if they're thinking to copy. I'm not a good guitarist, never will be and it's OK but, the way she uses all of those fingers...that takes a super brain to control that. I feel much better since I became solely a spectator.
It's interesting that she mentioned Luther Dickinson, who looks like he does his own version of Travis picking, but she didn't mention Johnny Winter who used a thumb pick to do fast blues lines. I know he's a different era, but someone to notice in her stable of influences if she likes to use her thumb.
Though she didn't copy Johnny Winter, when I hear her play her songs Turn It Up and Miles To Go it makes me think of Johnny Winter. She shared a bill on shows with the guy she called "Uncle Johnny". There's a picture on her FB page with her sound checking his guitar at a 2014 show. Her bass player, Christopher Alexander, was a member of the Paul Nelson band and if your a JW fan, you've got to appreciate Paul. I think she and Luther are attracted to a similar sound and they are both more about getting a sound they hear in their head than getting a sound and finding a way to use it. Altering an orthodox style such as travis picking isn't uncommon if your hands are quite small. She's obviously a natural and totalyl in charge of that guitar. She would be a virtuoso blues guitarist if she didn't have the extra "burden" of perfecting her beautiful voice, song writing and performing live.
The Girl is playin' 15 minutes from my home tonight,. The shows at a smallish bar 400 folks tops & its been sold out since day 1 I'm gonna go sit in my red whale of a golf cart a hybrid thing and see if I can hear if I can't get in
