Great episode as always from the most enjoyable sailing channel. I love the fact that you just say it as it is and the sense of anticipation and the anxiety of undertaking such a voyage comes across so well. I have no doubt you will succeed as you have the ability to solve all the problems that can arise.. Good luck with the voyage and look forward to following your journey. ❤️
Nice episode! You did it! Ocean loving Ausies❤ I hope the love is still there! Looking foward to the big crossing 😮. I can not wait! Good luck, love your channel because the emotions❤
What a ride! Everything about this video is beautiful. The dolphins are amazing and that underwater shot... magic. You two are great. Stay safe and enjoy. Cheers from Idaho, USA.
I did that passage on a aircraft carrier . Wow' that blue of the water is still the same color blue after all these years. COOL" Thank you for sharing.
I loved watching this guys! Such a great episode and loved seeing it from your perspective. Takes me right back there to that pretty perfect passage that it was. You both look so happy, relaxed and yes you should be bloody proud of yourselves for taking the plunge to do it, especially against your instincts Janaye! We are so so grateful that you did and that we got to share this passage and many others with you ❤ can’t wait for the next episode!!! Miss you guys 😘
Aww!! Pulling on my heart strings over here! We’re so glad we got to spend a few months sailing together! Absolute best time. Can’t wait to show you the next few episodes too! 😝 I promise we won’t embarrass you…too much 🤭 miss you loads 😘😘
Sitting here in Arizona I can't fathom the anxiety you guys are experiencing. Safety is No# 1, please take care of the kitties too! You guys are some Badass Aussies in my book! Love you guys so stay safe!! Regards from Arizona.
It was such a strange feeling, but we felt so proud of ourselves once we arrived and ticked off the first leg and it definitely gave us the motivation to keep on going ☺️ thank you, we certainly will 🐱 hahah Thanks so much 🙈 Cheers and Much love from us
This episode was amazing. The camera work brilliant and it was all put together so well. Music is ace too. Thanks guys. Provided an escape while working offshore.
That road @32:52 scared the bejeezus out of me the first time I went along it (and last 😅). I honestly felt that if you had gone off the road you would have had time to phone your insurance company on the way down. I had to smile at the makeshift depth charges. I suppose "necessity is the mother of invention".
I’ve been following a number of sailing adventures but some have ended there sailing lifestyle. Today by chance I discovered your channel. I enjoyed this video and look forward to your further adventures 😊
Before Hobart races, I used to start dosing the crew with sea sickness tablets on Christmas Eve, and kept them going until everyone was acclimatised, usually 2 days into the race. Minimal problems experienced.
Guys such a great episode! Thanks for taking us along! By the way those seasickness tablets "Stugeron" is not available is the USA or Canada!! So make sure you stock up before getting to the USA! All the best Richard
Juste both a Gen 2012 with 22 thousand km and just did 200 k in first run enjoyed it my mind set was purchasing this to get into adventure riding without paying premium price for a new one and liked all the after market upgrade you can buy for can't wait to get it of road
Great episode guys ‼️ 🎉 Canary Islands🎉🎉🎉 Hope you leave a link for the sea sickness tablets you were using so my bride can feel comfortable. Thanks for that. . Noticed your lifelines are a bit dangerous for actual protection. Might want to have a go at fixing that as well as jack lines for the actual crossing.☺️ Your courage is inspiring. Be safe and enjoy the ride. See you next time. ✨ 🌊 💨 ⛵️ 🏝️ 👙 🌞 ✨
Thankyou 😆 The Tablets are called Stugeron, I don't think you can buy then online but you can ask over the counter at pharmacies. they definitely sell them over the counter in Spain, England and Gibraltar and i would say most other countries! highly recommend she tries them 😄 Let us know how she goes! the only side effect she may get is a bit of drowsiness, but nothing else! and usually you can sleep that off for a couple of hours and then you're good as gold! Yesss we didn't actually know we could fix this until our buddies showed us and tightened them up for us so they're all fixed now, we also did have jack lines set up for this passage and the following passages but to be honest we didn't really use them for this one as it was pretty calm Thanks so much ☺️ Much Love
Beautiful sail. By the way, I just noticed that I was unsubscribed. I've heard of this from other channels. You may want to say something in your next video about people checking to see if they have been unsubscribed. I simply subscribed again, and all is well.
How do you get your packages delivered to your boat are you using the old “Poste Restante” method or are you sending care of a Marina? If so do you have to contact the marina to let them know?
We do it in various ways depending on where we are but usually we have to book a marina and then we contact them to ask for an address to send a package. however Amazon have pick-up locations in some countries and area's which is super handy and also if you can organise something to be send through DHL couriers then you can just jot down any address close by (preferably a marina i suppose, just incase you have any issues) and then we can change the delivery method to be picked up at their office instead, plus you can change delivery day etc too which is always handy. Also there is some freight forwarders from the US to countries in the caribbean where we can forward packages from the US and then pick up at a dedicated office in the caribbean islands
Y'all are doing great,, the Real crossing y a Bitch! Y'all will get there and enjoy the Caribbean for a year or so, then!!! Magic you're going to want The Pacific ocean. Fair winds following Seas, I'm gonna follow y'all from Texas ❤️❤️👍🇺🇸
Ahh thankyou so much 😆 hahah yeah I’m sure we totally will 🤣 it’s in the plan for sure but I think we’ll stick spring Caribbean, US etc for the next couple of years, there’s so many places to see 😍 thanks so much for subscribing 🫶🏼. Cheers, Janaye and Jase
Just wondering if boaters in the area ever use the Japanese method of banging on a metal pipe that hangs in the water to fend off the orcas? Is it expressly prohibited if you're being attacked? The extremely loud noise is used in Japan to herd the dolphins in order to kill them for food but could be used near Gibraltar to prohibit bad encounters with orcas
Hahaha i know Thank god! any other time I think an encounter would be incredible! as long as you know they're not going to try and rip out your rudder with their bare teeth 😅 Thanks so much!
Is it possible that orcas are annoyed by ultrasonic depth gauges, is there any statistics on this account, because fishing vessels constantly use echo sounders. An acquaintance from such a vessel told how a blue whale slapped fishermen due to misuse of fishing nets, this is an example..?
Full enclosures called a Catamaran!!!!🇦🇺😁👍super glad no seasickness bloody Awesome. The boats looking sweet, cutting through the water, loving it. Can u lift the boom a bit? Not a Bitch more like a bastard
If you're on the four deck and you're not wearing a harness, are you confident that your partner is capable and strong enough to get you on board again if the unthinkable happens?
Regarding the Orca attaccks at Gibraltar strait, the cause are the Morrocan high speed drug+human trafickers who have been operating for a few years now, with no effective solution to that in the horizon unfortunately
Ohh interesting! I haven't heard that before but who really knows 🤔 do you think they've done something to one of them or are just zooming across that area and have caused distress?
For sure! The smugglers use 40foot RIB's with 1000 horsepower flying over 100 miles/hour back n' forth the straight. And the straights are firts and foremost aquatic wildlife's highway. Imagine having high speed races every day on your streets in town with children playing...
Hey Christopher ☺️ welcome aboard! Thanks for watching us ☺️ we’re Australian 🇦🇺😆 the flag on our Deck is the Balearics flag from Spain but it doesn’t look slightly similar in some way haha
We explain it in this episode However it’s a little hard to understand my rambling 😂 we don’t exactly know what happened, but we forgot it clip it back into its brace and when we sailed from one place to another in Spain overnight it must’ve fallen overboard when we heeled over and we didn’t realise 🥲 silly mistake on our behalf, oops 😬
You kids epitomise the true Aussie spirit..kudos!🇦🇺
I'd love to believe that the dolphins are keeping the orcas away and protecting you. :-)
So much to love about this episode, congratulations guys, a massive achievement! ❤
Ohh thankyou, so glad you enjoyed it. We took a lot of time to edit these past couple of episodes ☺️ cheers 🥂🍾❤️

one year later my boat docked same spot at queensway... small world....

I see a horror film in the future.

😂😂🙊
Well done, nerve wracking, but all great.
Great sail and some lovely sunsets. Just wondering what it would take to get Jason to refer to points of sailing......!!!
Thankyou :) Do you mean like sailing direction to the wind?
I do.... close hauled, close reach etc instead of an angle!
@@timothybloomer4246 hahah yes us Aussie’s like to use the easy slang wording for everything 😂😅 we do say it every now and then though
The dolphins protect the boat from Orcinus orca
“This is bloody it!”
Queenslanders by any chance?

When I'm in a Rush I take a plane
I’m confused. You’re sailing towards the Caribbean and hurricane season? What’s the plan?
For all of those going this area, turn off all of your electrical equipment. Just saying...,
They work on frequency and the boat's equipment is messing them up I think.
Congrats on the crossing . Bye bye orcas
Hahaha i know Thank god! any other time I think an encounter would be incredible! as long as you know they're not going to try and rip out your rudder with their bare teeth 😅 Thanks so much!
I think you should tighten your lifelines😊
Hahha yep they were really bad! we didn't actually know you could tighten them until our friends showed us how but they're all fixed up now

If you're on the four deck and you're not wearing a harness, are you confident that your partner is capable and strong enough to get you on board again if the unthinkable happens?
unpopular theory. The Orcas are eating "migrants" and occasionally get busted by yaughties.
Chao preciosa…
Grazie Mille ☺️
Go Jase. BBwwwwrp.

A very silly question y'all, new to yr channel, why is the American flag flying on y'all deck? Y'all sound like Brits , 🇺🇸🇺🇸👍❤️
Hey Christopher ☺️ welcome aboard! Thanks for watching us ☺️ we’re Australian 🇦🇺😆 the flag on our Deck is the Balearics flag from Spain but it doesn’t look slightly similar in some way haha
It’s because you’re pooping in their water.
🤣🤣🤣
I give thumbs down to anyone that uses Clickbait
She prostitute herself with that picture as clickbait.
