I miss those Pre Premier League days, Football meant so much more to me back then - so did Tottenham as a matter of fact. RIP Saint and Greavsie 😢 - 2 absolutely great players and TV Characters - never had a combination like it before or since. COYS!!!
Leave off boys Sky took the game to the next level. Agreed there was a lot to love back then but you can't call it better. Had this argument many times but we always look back with rose tinted specs people forget the doldrums the footie not even being on the telly and the same old boring farts with the same old coinage at least sky was capable of change.
@@gordonferrar7782 Sorry, but SKY ruined it with money. The Prem is now a closed shop when it comes to winning the title. Those top boys don't want anyone joining their cartel. Leicester winning was an aberration.
@@spanishpeaches2930 Leicester winning was a rigged season. And one of the reasons it was rigged was to drum up interest and make the masses believe that it was possible for an underdog to win it.
That goal at the end from the womens’ team was like something from the Sunday League. Not a slight on the scorer, but more a marker for how far the womens’ game has come in the last 25 years. Better coaches, more interest, fitter players.
Gazza hated Shilton, after losing the penalty shoot out against West Germany in the World Cup Semi Final.Gazza shouted at Shilton you are allowed to actually save one you know. They had to be separated.
Love Gazza - I didn't know that either, but Gazza was right, Shilton was no way near any of them.... completely useless - we had better keepers in our old First Division. Dave Beasant would have got us through if Sir Bobby had subbed him on - didn't get the chance maybe?
@@simonpalmer4061 😂😂 So half the Kippax and whole umbro stand was for away support?? That's nearly half the stadium 😂😂 yeah right.... In 2 clips it shows city's true pathetic support that still exists today
saint and greasvie where the best double act on tv so funny it was a brilliant show ...I miss them days before money ruined the game

Saint and Greavsie and Division One... Great days... Before the Premier League and Sky reared their ugly heads. Into Eden comes the Serpent....

Was there a better player in that list than John Barnes, what a fantastic player
Yes Gazza
Fantastic in a Liverpool shirt, average in an England one, unfortunately.
@@kebabtank still a far far better footballer than Gascoigne ever was though, Barnes would fetch in excess of £100m in todays market
kebabtank accurate analysis ,Micheal Martin-talking shit 🤗
Gazza
The Robert Rosario goal from the previous season is absolutely superb.
Wegerle all day every day for me. Aside from Gazzas free kick none of the others are of that calibre
The Wegerle goal is sublime. He beats five Leeds players.
my top 3
1)Roy Wegerle
2)Dean Saunders
3)Gazza
My mate was adamant John Barnes would win that year

That goal from Marco gabbadini what a player he was FTM
Also, Gazza scored that Free-kick seven months before doing exactly the same vs Arsenal at Wembley.
30 years on and Elland Road still has the best atmosphere in English football.
The 'atmosphere' has been sanitized inside Premier League stadia in a deliberate attempt to attract a different category of 'fan'
all of these men here are kings to me

I didn't know that! That's hilarious 😂
Peter Shilton was absolutely crap at saving penalties and an unbelievably overrated goalkeeper.

hi great bit of nostalga good video, however it was gazza who won goal of the season!
Was it? I thought Wegerle scooped the prize
It was roy wegerle that won it
the Gazza goal is clearly the best.
How did Dean Saunders not win it? That was amazing
The most long winded GOTS I've ever seen lol
Haha ! Was thinking the same...gave up after the EFC goal !

Proper football back in the day not like today's prima Donnas
Wibledons goal was crap
We scored many better ones than that in 1990/91 - at least two of which are here:

Sure gazza done shilts twice in that game with free kicks
I thought John Harkes got it, in the League Cup
Who won it?
Roy Wegerle QPR
