That first story is very relatable in a way. I used to work security at an abandoned mental hospital in Illinois. I have so many crazy stories about paranormal things as well as the strange people that used to try and hang around.
I used to watch forensic files at night loving the voice of the narrator and I fell asleep content with his voice in the background even though it was true crime and murders his voice was a good night sleep for me and I love your voice I just came across this site and subscribed so I can listen before bed or falling asleep

There's a story that you did that sticks with me. I've gone through your narrations over and over trying to find it. It was about a whale that got around the stairs under the ocean and ended up landing in a forest. Of course it died in the forest but not real quickly because it could breathe air. Anyway I felt so bad for that whale.

Thanks again, Mort! I have lived to be old, which is a privilege as times have changed. But about that last story... it's just barely possible that the young men simply wanted to give a pretty girl a ride. One of the great regrets of my life is from when I was 19. Although I hitchhiked all over Los Angeles, I was just walking down a street in Glendale when a city fire truck drove by, covered by handsome firemen. It stopped, and they shouted gleefully, "Hey! Wanna come with us and get ice cream?" I was on my way to smoke weed, and I said, "No." They persisted but I was firm. And they drove away, all joy killed. To this day, I wish I had gotten on that fire truck. But these days, I'd probably be entertaining people on Reddit saying stuff like, "How did I know they were city employees?" or "Ew, they were so creepy," or the ever-popular "I can't help but wonder what would have happened if..." Yeah. I missed out on a great story, not to mention ice cream. The weed wasn't worth it.
To the new dispatcher. I spent 32 years in emergency dispatch and those calls still haunt me and I retired in 2006. I pray you never lose an officer while on duty, those are even worse.

The story about the woman who lived on a houseboat on a river and saw aliens speed walking up a nearby hill really creeped me out. She said she finally walked up the hill herself and only found a nice picnic spot. Somehow, it reminded me of a story I had read about Mt. Shasta in California. The tale is that there is a hollow space inside the mountain that aliens use. I can't help but wonder about her hill and if the aliens are disappearing inside of it.
I must be getting old. I keep getting irritated by the thought "why don't they just call the cops instead of (calling their best friend/boyfriend, just driving scared, going home, wishing someone inside the establishment noticed)"
No it’s not your 5 year old brain being dumb , I had a very similar experience with the blackness . I was also between 2 and 5 years old and am also an empath . I’ve come to believe that the darkness is attracted to our light but we are protected so all they can do is let their presence be known and frighten us

There's a story that you did that sticks with me. I've gone through your narrations over and over trying to find it. It was about a whale that got around the stairs under the ocean and ended up landing in a forest. Of course it died in the forest but not real quickly because it could breathe air. Anyway I felt so bad for that whale.

Thanks again, Mort! I have lived to be old, which is a privilege as times have changed. But about that last story... it's just barely possible that the young men simply wanted to give a pretty girl a ride. One of the great regrets of my life is from when I was 19. Although I hitchhiked all over Los Angeles, I was just walking down a street in Glendale when a city fire truck drove by, covered by handsome firemen. It stopped, and they shouted gleefully, "Hey! Wanna come with us and get ice cream?" I was on my way to smoke weed, and I said, "No." They persisted but I was firm. And they drove away, all joy killed. To this day, I wish I had gotten on that fire truck. But these days, I'd probably be entertaining people on Reddit saying stuff like, "How did I know they were city employees?" or "Ew, they were so creepy," or the ever-popular "I can't help but wonder what would have happened if..." Yeah. I missed out on a great story, not to mention ice cream. The weed wasn't worth it.

The story about the woman who lived on a houseboat on a river and saw aliens speed walking up a nearby hill really creeped me out. She said she finally walked up the hill herself and only found a nice picnic spot. Somehow, it reminded me of a story I had read about Mt. Shasta in California. The tale is that there is a hollow space inside the mountain that aliens use. I can't help but wonder about her hill and if the aliens are disappearing inside of it.

No it’s not your 5 year old brain being dumb , I had a very similar experience with the blackness . I was also between 2 and 5 years old and am also an empath . I’ve come to believe that the darkness is attracted to our light but we are protected so all they can do is let their presence be known and frighten us
