47:15 When I first heard this podcast, I was on a trip to SF bay area down the Oregon coast. I had pulled off US 101 in Santa Rosa, CA to get some gas, and immediately pulled into a traffic jam. For some reason, Santa Rosa has the worst rush hour you can imagine. I sat there watching the E on the dashboard continue to glow while the traffic was completely stopped. The traffic light cycled about a dozen times while we all sat there. Then I realized I had one other option: Drive on the sidewalk for about 10 feet, pull into the shopping center, and go inside the Arby's and wait it out with a Dr. Pepper and something that looks like roast beef. And that's what I did. When I got inside, I was mumbling incoherently and I had to repeat myself when I placed the order. They were going to bring me my order, so I sat down on the other side of the restaurant from the arguing couple and waited. I must have looked overheated and visibly disheartened by the traffic horrors outside, because when my order arrived it had not one but two chocolate-chip cookies I hadn't ordered. They were tucked under the napkins, as a hidden treat that I'd only notice later, long after the order was delivered to my table. I sat there and slowly ate my sandwich and sipped my drink while the couple bickered and the traffic cleared. Eventually the couple left and it was just me and my soft drink and meat-similar sandwich, and later a delightful discovery of some cookies. Newly fortified, I resumed the drive towards SF bay, and that’s when I heard Felix say he loved Hunter Biden so, so much. And that was so funny and so touching that now whenever I hear about Hunter Biden, I think, “No matter who else hates him, Felix will always have a crush.” And then I think of those cookies, and I wish Hunter could hear this podcast and he might feel the way I did when I first saw them.
Rosa *represent!* Our traffic sucks because we're too dumb for public transit. We spent millions on a train system that only stops in abandoned office parks, and our buses are filled with the violently-insane homeless people that we refuse to deal with. All our attempts to modernize the roads either take a decade to finish or get shot down by new-age boomers who want to keep the city looking like it did in 1969.
Damn, it’s too bad they have all those drones and planes and helicopters. There was a time when it could’ve been very useful to a revolutionary movement for the state’s tanks to be unable to navigate freely in our cities... But now that’s a pretty minor factor.
Ah The good old days when the media was worried about fascism. Now we have permanent fencing around the capital and mandated government vaccinations for the good of the country.
