Remember when LEGO made those pods with a figure that had a brick built background? I bought one of those in 2016 for an extra Vader helmet but I never did anything with it.

Actually this isn't the first time I do this. I also "customized" a Captain America shield to make the broken version from endgame, and I have cut flex tubes multiple times for mocs.

@@Bishop2flyy Kenobi definitely has its problems but overall I’d say it was pretty good. Much better than Book of Boba Fett. You should totally watch the rest of it, even if you end up not liking the series as a whole. Episodes five and six are phenomenal and almost left me in tears. The ending was super emotional and wrapped up everything nicely (in my opinion, of course).
In case nobody else noticed VADERS LIGHTSABER HILT WAS THE WRONG WAY

Being a lego custom minifigure maker, seeing more people get into this hobby brings joy to me
As a plastic model builder, I suggest using a heat blade to cut through the helmet to make like some sort of laser cut. But sanding is still fine to make damages
It would look so cool, if the head actualy matched the helmet (the eyes are just too low unfortunately)😅
Interesting enough, few years back after I saw the Rebels season 2 finale, I had the same idea (just with Vader’s head from imperial Star destoyer from 2014 Where he actualy has Sith eyes) but in the end I didn’t do it for some reason, I guess I was a kid with no money back then.😂

I also do it only for darth Vader.
His actual lightsaber is Always handeled by the top wich makes the lightsaber upside down more accurate. (I also use a black lightsaber piece for the accuracy)

"Anakin is gone, I amp what remains." Great job on the mask. If you want a more complete look to the battle damage part, maybe use a touch of Liquitex gloss varnish. Any time I do some non-purest mods it brings balk that shine that makes it look that much more legit.
Lego should really make a new Vader Broken Helmet piece 😄.

Ita a shame the eyes don't meet up with where the eyes for vaders helmet meet up, it's always annoyed me a little. I carved a hole in one of my vader mask's eyes, and combined it with the battle damaged anakin from the somewhat recent vader transformation set, and was pretty happy with the final result, it ended up looking like an incredibly battle damaged vader, similar to the one that came in the force unleashed set, but the fact that the eye didn't meet up with the eye hole I carved always annoyed me
This brought a tear to my eye
This has happened like twice now so an official piece would be cool

I would have used spru nippers so the opening wasn't so wide, or a soldering iron so it looked like it was also melted as it was sliced through

If anyone wants to try this and get better results try using a dremel or rotary tool instead. They are a lot easier to control and have more options then sanding files do.

Ah yes in a world where the majority of weapons shoots/consist of super heated plasma/laser, a random blunt instrument is definitely going to hit someone's helmet just right to form a triangular hole.
I mean at least torch it up a bit to make it slightly melted on the edge 😅
