Hello. I am interested in installing a 102" whip on my house. Unfortunately, I have pancreatic cancer, so climbing a 28' ladder is out of the question. A 16' ladder should be doable. My problem is that I have no place to mount radials. If I were to install a 102" or 108" wire from the S0239 side and let it hang vertically, would this accomplish the same purpose to obtain a low SWR on 11 meters? I already have an 8' electrical ground rod in the earth so the antenna would be electrically grounded. Thanks.
Very hard to tell if it will or not there are thousands of variables , i have done it before in some cases it worked very well best to do is experiment and just try it to see what kind of swr you get, i have been using a dj speaker stand that goes up 9 feet and it works excellent but you just have to experiment and try differnt things. Thats the whole fun in it i think. Just make sure you have a good meter . To give you accurate readings.
I have been using this now on a jobsite for a month it has been working great you just have to watch those swr readings . I check it daily! 1.2 to 1.3. every antenna will act different!

Just get a Sirio Boomerang. Done.
An electrical ground is not an RF ground.
@@terryparker1694 they are overpriced...
Dont see the point. Even with no spring just using the whip alone will give a great SWR.
Alot of setups will not tune with out he spring or the pipe, its rare if you get a 1.1 swr with just the antenna alone, if you do that is excellent!
Just ordered one it’s 5 inch and it came with a 1 inch coupling . Is that right ?
Sometimes it tunes better with these depends on your setup.
Not unless it is the resonate length at the frequency being used.
They make all different lengths, just have to experiment with it and check those swrs!
