I linked the full episodes where I build the input & install the mod. It's over 4 hours of more detailed content. You can also find the guides for the RGB mod and Scart Input in the description. Thanks and good luck in adding RGB to your TV!📺
I picked one of these up from the curb with stock remote included no chips, cracks, or scuffs on tube or plastic. I also have a white one with good tube and rough plastic. Probably will start by modding the white one and see how it looks. Have a couple of PVMs but still enjoy working on these consumer ones since the quality needle really tends to move with some calibration and clean video signals.
This is one of the topics that TH-cam needs to make a location filter for: block US content (I also need it for clothing videos as US styling vids are mostly "bad taste"). I was trying to search a RGB Trinitron review, all I get is RGB mods for US TV's. Here you can pick up any CRT, and 98% chance it does RGB-input as is. Only some obscure brands don't. If you did not have RGB in via SCART, you were not allowed to sell in France, and that meant a huge problem.
Now this I really want to see( like all of Steve's videos). Modding classic units to make them even greater. Thank you for sharing this with us bro. 8^) Anthony..
Thanks for the great video, here are some extra tips: I'm told by a smart friend that you want the coupling capacitors and terminating resistors closer to the board rather than the connector. Also, be careful with ESD discharge, those older jungle chips don't have much protection circuitry, I fried a board that way (you might have seen my predicament in your Discord). You might want to formally disable the CC chip in the service menu. Also, you can try using a 3D printed SCART backplate to make it look more factory.
RGB mod a Mitsubishi Black Diamond DIVA 31" / 78cm CRT TV (CT-33AC2S). I have watched hundreds of RGB mods, but have never, ever seen a Mitsubishi modded. It must be possible because the exact same TV in the UK and Germany (and likely other countries) came with factory RGB input via SCART.
Wish I had read this before I modded mine, now I have to undo everything and start over! I tried to piggyback of the CC because that seemed the best option but couldn't get it to work. Not that I know how it should be easier 🙂
I did a scart head, soldered the wires to the tv motherboard & I got sound & video from composite, turned the switch! Got a grey dark image no colors, re-did the scart head got color but no brightness. No power to the scart head? Or blanking? On pin 8 & 16? Replaced the 0.1 cap had no reading with the multimeter, Now I have reading of 74.8 ohms on RGB. My RGB is grounded on the daisy chain with the resistors & caps, does the yellow video sync connect to ground as well or no? In the diagram it is not. Appreciate if you can help. 😅
I actually tried to do this mod by designing a PCB to replace the CC board but I guess I was overthinking it. I will have to see how I can rework this to use the BNC connectors I installed instead.
Honestly you could make it even simpler and buy dupoint female to female cables. I'm doing this mod right now with those and a scart PCB from sunthar and so far that's helped tidy up the wiring a ton. I'm adding male dupoint connectors to the tv PCB for the audio, sync and ground so the port isn't soldered to the scart connector
Thank you so much for the tutorial as it gave me the confidence to start this mod on my KV 13TR29. Would a 1/4 watt 75 ohm resistor be large enough or should I go with a higher wattage?
Hello sir ... How're you ..!! Sir I need to help power supply 13TR28 , there are two transistor with heat sink near two capicitor . Please tell that transistor number ..!! I will be thanks full ....
Anyone watching here in the New England Area that knows where to get a CRT serviced? I have a 27" Flat Sony Trintron. It looks great with component but the geometry is bad enough to annoy me . I only know of one place but they might not be able to help with this issue (been to them before and all they did was try to degauss it and that didn't resolve the issue).
Please help me anyone ..!! I need to help power supply 13TR28 , there are two transistor with heat sink near two capicitor . Please tell that transistor number ..!! I will be thanks full ....

I have this tv i kept it all these years and it still works to.
I really need to RGB my Trinitron. A great video!!
Thank you

Absolutely dude! Thanks Anthony .

Great job for NTSC CRT!!!
Thanks!
Finally found one for 20$ locally! time to mod :)
thanks for making this video
I have a KV-27S42, I'd love to mod it with component... and I'd love a video on that too!

and here was naive me thinking I would be able to do this myself.
Hello 👋🏽 retro tech. Question: Can a Sony Trinitron KV-27FS17 be RGB modified?

@@SnoopKatt where can I find this SCART PCB?
@@TimDavis77 thought I commented but I'm adding the links here
@@SnoopKatt no worries I’ll just search for SCART and sunthar
parts list for scart connector ? the database is missing some of the resistors

Hello sir ... How're you ..!!
I need help by you kv13TR29 tv ...!!
sick jacket
Does anyone know how to adjust hsize on these models? Does it have a inside hsize pot? Service menu doesn't work at all.

i have a trinitron 20v60 and ive seen some things saying its impossible for mine. Any insight on that?
Is it possible to perform this mod to a 40" Mitsubishi CRT?
What is the cream you are using on the anode cup? Thanks
It's just dielectric grease. Superlube or similar
Amazing! Is it possible to mod a KV-27S42 to have component inputs?
Yup, it can be modded for nothing RGB and Component.
👍👍👍👍👍
I know that this model is documented well enough to have a full RGB mod guide, but would anyone know how many lines are on this tube?
It's just a standard ntsc tube around 250 lines or so
@@xai38-809 Oh that’s neat. Thanks for the info 👍

Man I wish Icould get a 14" PVM, but importing them is gonna cost me a arm and the price of it all would cost me a leg.
