@@TheBinaryWolf No, bad "restoration" just makes more work for when the real restorer has to re-do it. Sadly bad repair is still being done all over the world, even proudly, as we see here.
@@AndSendMe I lived with Gerundino for a while and had the privilege of watching him work. He shared a lot of his technique. Since then, I have found that there are very few luthiers that are able to build an instrument that matures well, and far fewer who can do repair work. It is far more challenging to perform a repair than to build an instrument.
