This entire episode just confirms there is no pivot. Yes they wanna make money cause of the Renoâs but the reality is we need a complete tear down and rebuild.
Anything else is an exercise in futility and Rogers trying to fix the fanbase into still coming for games.

Why trading a player when he is in his down year? Buy high Sell Low strategy? Gausman still have 2 years left, you can trade him next year or during offseason. Unless you got execeptional value back, that you cannot turn down. If Gausman is traded, that means Jays have giving up this season and or next too, do Atkins has the guts to do? I doubt. He usuallly play safe, and conservative approach. When he make risky trades, usually turns out in a bad way.
If they don't CUT the President, GM, and Manager, I will never watch them until then. All three are out of their depth and will NEVER win a World Series. Ppl can try to push blame on the players but the fish rots from the head.

It's clear the Jays mgmt got them into this position by not signing more bats, that being said JDas well keep saying they need to trade Vlad or Bo, at pennies on the dollar that's going to be hard, kind of have to hope Bo turns it around and that you can trade him in the off season. Jeff Blair also was telling Barker that he didn't think a down year would affect how much he would sign an extension for, respectfully disagree there. Tough situation all around. Even if someone replaces Atkins, not an easy fix here.

Shapiro is to blame for everything. He's the President. He signed off on these silly offseason signings after Atkins said last October that he had to be better as a GM. Well, he's worse. Shapiro said Atkins has done an amazing job. Atkins said there was no holes in this locomotive team. They fire a rookie manager and hire another rookie manager.
Both Shapiro and Atkins are clueless.
Shapiro also destroyed SkyDome. It was an exciting homerun park. The outfield reno changed the airflow in the dome and it's no longer a homerun park. Shapiro knew this since last year. So what does Shapiro do? He signs more weak hitting infielders.
During a lot of games, 7 of 9 position players are actually infielders.
You just can't help but laugh at how incompetent Rogers is to hire a President with a 30+ year record of never winning anything and think things will be different.
Partly because I think the team wanted international money to restock the cupboard basically hedging the season. We need better prospects over the next 1-2 years especially with contracts coming up
@@NotExplicable Shapiro has been a failure on every level. Destroyed the stadium. Look at the eyesore netting down the line where the new angled seating is. Along the wall where the new seating is, is indentations in the wall where the ball bounces back toward the infield when he hits this spot.
Waves of talent? Where are they? The Jays don't even have one pitcher they can call up after 9 years. Not one defensive player is MLB ready.
Shapiro spent over $100 million dollars paying players and a manger to go away.
Shapiro got nothing for Jose, EE, Donaldson, Dickey, Price etc. This is real reason why the Jays are so bad right now, he got nothing for these All Star players.
Both Baltimore and the Jays were wildcard teams in 2016. They have both rebuilt since then and the O's are light years ahead of Shapiro and Shapiro has record budgets to play with. The O's have also been better than the Jays for 2 seasons already.
The attendance is going nowhere but down.
The Guardians have been a great team since Cleveland got rid of Shapiro and Atkins. The Indians had 450 sellout home games in a row, or whatever it was, until Shapiro took over. He destroyed the fan base and now he's doing it in Toronto.

Don't believe a word Atkins says. The only reason he is saying they are working on an extension is because when they do trade them he want to blame the players. He will claim that the team offered them a good deal, but the players didn't want to stay. Everything he says is just about blaming others and covering his ass.
