“Concentrations” have been a thing for as far as I remember. Some colleges actually call it a “track”, like the one I went to. It’s common when you’re going for a generic degree like Business Admin, Biology, Accounting, etc. It just means you took certain core courses that relate to a more specific subject or area that pertains to that degree. I have a Business Admin bachelor’s with a concentration on International Business. Now, my college has an actual International Business degree. My brother, who went to college in the 90s, has a Biology degree with a concentration in Plant Sciences. There are various reasons for having a concentration in a particular subject, specially something like Business Admin because a general BA degree is useless. Most general degrees are useless. Now, what the hell are even the majors these people are talking about is a different story. These kids all went to a Liberal Arts school that lets you make up your own majors. Never mind the random concentrations in self whatever, the actual majors are bogus as well.

In my workplace we are not hiring graduates any more.
By dragging it down because they have no marketable skills. They have nothing to give, but are going to take plenty.
“Concentrations” have been a thing for as far as I remember. Some colleges actually call it a “track”, like the one I went to. It’s common when you’re going for a generic degree like Business Admin, Biology, Accounting, etc. It just means you took certain core courses that relate to a more specific subject or area that pertains to that degree. I have a Business Admin bachelor’s with a concentration on International Business. Now, my college has an actual International Business degree. My brother, who went to college in the 90s, has a Biology degree with a concentration in Plant Sciences. There are various reasons for having a concentration in a particular subject, specially something like Business Admin because a general BA degree is useless. Most general degrees are useless.
Now, what the hell are even the majors these people are talking about is a different story. These kids all went to a Liberal Arts school that lets you make up your own majors. Never mind the random concentrations in self whatever, the actual majors are bogus as well.
