    So my $15 pasta maker is now going to be a pasta maker, clay roller, & printing press! Now that’s versatile!!

      lol, to be fair, it works as a printing press. But the bigger and beefier the machine the better. If you can get a hold of a second hand die cutting machine the amount of extra pressure will result in better prints with the gold standard being the massive etching presses you might be able to find in old colleges and university print rooms.
      Though the pasta press is definitely a versatile little beast.

    I loved the video. Clear instructions, not too long, very nice project! Thank you ♥

    It really helps if you clamp the press onto the table, most pasta machines come with a clamp.

      That is a really good idea :) I have improved my set up very slightly with the addition of a die cutter which I use in a very similar way, The clamp would improve this machine also :)

      Philip Bradley it can still be a bit fiddly to get the plate and paper through all together and to bend it out slightly - printing plates and paper are not a malleable as pasta! But it does make a huge difference to have the machine secured

      Absolutely, it was an mistake on my part not to, Every little thing you can do to get a better print is worth it :) in my opinion.

      Philip Bradley especially when a 'proper' press is so expensive!

      Absolutely, Though a 'proper' press is on my wish list its still fun to experiment and see what is possible with the things we might have access to already. (by the way a slightly cheaper than 'proper press' but still amazing option is a jewelry roller mill if you are OK working on small prints)

    Excellent, thankyou! And I'm kicking myself for giving my pasta maker to a charity shop as it wasn't getting used :-/

      lol, there are a lot of great printing hacks, My favorite includes the use of a spoon as the printing press as it allows for a lot more control.

    How wide is you pasta machine?

      hello, sorry for taking a while to reply, this one is a standard pasta press sooo.. I think 3 inches possibly 4, but you can take the same concept and use an embossing press or even a mangle if you want to go bigger, and an etching press would give best results - but they are a bit spendy.

      Thank you. If you are interested in going one better without the cost of an etching press sizzix style roller die cutting machines are very good as the next step from a pasta press. (still not as good as a full amazing etching press but will do in a pinch)

    What is block ink?

      @WorldOfWoodcraft  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hello, block ink as far as I'm aware is boiled linseed oil with a pigment embedded, ,, think tar-like oil paint with slightly different properties. available from larger art equipment stockists or specialist online retailers.
