- Most migrants to South Africa come from the SADC region for employment
Labour migration, the movement of individuals across the borders for employment purposes, is a fundamental aspect of the global economy and has profound social, economic, and political implications. According to the report, Migration profile report for South Africa: A country profile 2023 released by Statistics South Africa (Stats SA), most migrants entering South Africa originate from countries in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Region.
Why do foreign nationals act like they are the first to work in these industries in SA? 🤣During apartheid up until early 2000's South Africans were the majority workers in such industries, who built the schools/hospitals/apartment blocks/malls that you currently utilise before the influx of foreign nationals in the early 2000's? Hayi man immigrants should have some respect and appreciation for South Africans and their efforts. Its through their efforts that you are living here today.
When you say SAfricans dont want construction job...who was doing those jobs before you all come here?..pls stop talking things you know nothing about nxx
My wonder too 😮
this fotreigners lies to each other about SA and its people and they tink they know our problems and have solutions for them but their own countries are on fire mxm sis
They think when they come here, the found dead people or corpses
It serves them right. They think they are preferred because they allege they are hard workers over the locals. They enjoy it.
Spirit of ubuntu
@@TariromtinSpirit of Ubuntu mustn't be abused for wrongdoings. Laws of the country must be upheld, SA is a sovereign state like all the 54 states of Africa, just like your own country which deport and also reserve jobs for it's citizens.
@@Tariromtinspirit of ubuntu is coming to a country legally with documented papers thats is called ubuntu
@@TariromtinIs there any Ubuntu in Zimbabwe if any why are in SA and your countryman
Tariro you are confusing yourself. There is no South African who doesn’t want a certain or particular kind of job. There are no jobs that South African don’t want. You do know why and how is the selling factor for foreigners. It is forgetting about rights
Now I know better thanks
Who called them to come to SA illegally..let them exploit them we dont care
What happened to spirit of ubuntu
@@Tariromtin yall respect laws in countries you come from..You only do as you wish in SA...foreighners taking us for granted..y'all should not be allowed to be in SA, legally or illegal..Yr so annoying
What happened to respecting the law of our country. Y'all think S.A. playing ground
osele wena nxa south Africans are suffering u telling us about Ubuntu what do u know about Ubuntu nxa ..we have been nice for this ppl so it's high time we take back what's belongs to us south Africans 🇿🇦
@@Tariromtinubuntu is knowing that entering a country witjout documented papers is criminality and should be arrested then deported......thats ubuntu my dear
And where are those NGOs who always fight govt when deporting the illegal as most are
We been telling africans that thy are exploited but dnt listen..thy say we are lazy n all sorts of names..i hope thy learn from this experience...
I don't believe you when you saying South Africans don't want to work in constructions, the thing here in SA we have minimum wages, constructions hiring foreigners because they don't want to pay that we leave it to foreigners, but if foreigners are all documented and have rights we will work for constructions
Thanks now I know better
Sis, it's really not about South Africans, no preferring certain jobs - that's a false perception spread all over Africa 🧏🏽♂️ in South Africa, we have the Basic Conditions of Employment, Employment Equity, Minimum Wage, we have Bargaining Councils, etc. we have all these laws that regulate our employment and we unionize, which is a headache for exploitative employers 🤦🏽♂️ we learn about these things in school or we've witnessed them first hand when our parents are broke for months on end, when they haven't been paid cause they're on strike 😣 these laws like everything else in South Africa didn't just come from heaven but fought for, for decades - it's too much for illegal foreign nationals to wrap their heads around 🤦🏽♂️ and sadly, in general foreign nationals come here from pretty much lawless countries thinking "Aw, it's just another Africa country" and this is even for legal foreign nationals 🤦🏽♂️ kanti we pay Taxes, UIF, Occupational Injury, Union Fees, etc. we have to adhere to SHE training and standards, the list is endless 🤦🏽♂️ some countries like France, go as far as having a "Right to Disconnect" which a need necessitated they also fight tooth and nail for but the African foreigners in France mostly, think the Fench are just lazy, right? 🙄 Ask yourself for instance, how many foreign nationals died alongside Mgcineni Noki in Marikana and why? 😐 my 2 cents 💕💕
Very insightful now I know better 🙏
@@Tariromtin Tariro please 🙏 do better research, instead of just talking, "SAns don't want these jobs" .
I think Agriculture and Construction are the worst
Ndxm uyabhuda, vacant job? Who told you SAns dont want to work in construction.
Exactly, They full of s***
Not saying they don't want the construction jobs, they want reasonable payment from R3500 as minimum wage
I get it now thank you
On that high note of phd and human rights my sister we will be dealing with such organisations like NGOs who prioritize immigrants above SAs and always taking our Goverment to court it is gonna change ASAP you'll be waisting your time
Oooo really thanks for your insight
There you go again Tariro. Sometimes I feel that your age being so young sort of fail your understanding of South African industrial dynamics.
This country is built on the backs of South Africans, and many other surrounding neighboring countries citizens like Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Botswana, Malawi, Zambia, Namibia. I know that because my own father died of some lung disease he caught in these mines working with many other nationalities, but they were in this country legally hence so many of them have actually became South African citizens. This myth that South Africans don't want construction or any other jobs that are crowded by illegal immigrants is disinformation perpetuated by the very same employers on the industries. If your cousin in the agricultural industry, being a foreigner cannot survive of the low wages offered to them but many of his countrymen accept them, how do you think a man with his family in South Africa and knowing his rights as a South African citizen would accept such slavery wage and inhuman working conditions?
Those jobs are needed by South Africans but they must be in line with the national minimum wage standards set by the government which these employer are avoiding to comply with by employing and enslaving illegal immigrants.
It's a huge lie that we are lazy, we have degrees and masters and go look for jobs but we are told that we are over qualified. I even went to look for a job in restaurants but the Zimbabweans gatekeepers would not let us in. I even went to construction 🚧 but still we are rejected
What's worse is that, even the institution's of Higher learning have joined in. Universities are giving foreigners priority over SAns.
That’s a lie……universities hv majority percentage reserved for South African. How many foreigners hv you seen at a university they only 10% don’t lie please. For your own knowledge we also hv South African students studying in other countries worldwide.
@@Tariromtin South Africans are not pushing out the citizens of those country away from opportunities .
@@Tariromtinstop lying wena nje can a SAn go and study in Zimbabwe ncncnc why did you live Zimbabwe then come study in SA
Sometimes life is how you plan your things. I never left Zimbabwe my self but I can tell you about these people who are being exploited in foreign lands. What I have noticed is there are two types of such people. The one with a vision and the one without a vision. There are those working like slaves in foreign land and are taking advantage of our weak currency and other opportunities back home like to aquire land and build nice homes in their rural homes and cities. Some of these people have beautiful homes that their bosses in UK, SA or USA do not have. They have equiped their rural homes with boreholes, Solar etc. when they tell you the types of jobs their doing abroad you won't believe it. Then you have the second person with no vision, they are dancing in night clubs, and spending money on useless things like fancy cars and women. Some of them are also commiting crime .
God has a way of uplifting his people regardless of circumstances.
That’s very true you raised some valid points here
You are also out of order, who told you that SAns doesn't want to work such jobs?
I hear people saying so
You are 100% correct. The culture of exploitation comes from apartheid
Thanks for watching
@kfutuahnkain86 Stop blaming apartheid for everything, government is supposed to enforce the law and make sure every company comply with the law.
But they have a choice and they are not being called from their countries.
I don't think they are exploited they are earning what they agreed upon coz the so called lazy South Africans know how much they should earn per hour according to the sector's gazzeted rate and have registered trade unions for such sectors to deal with such essues also the department of labor must be consulted on disputes. Tell me. Can an undocumented or illegall immigrant have access to those organizations? NO Because he/she doesn't exist in SA only him/her and employer knows about their existence , they must enjoy and get used to it
If there was the seventh wonder, I would probably say transportation. Trucks, Buses and e hailing. From personal anecdotes. Not sure about courier though
You very right
Seventies it used to be students part time jobs.
Ooooo really
Not just 70's, even in 90's, we all worked at pizza hut, spur to make pocket money and even pay fees.
You heading is wrong and misleading. Foreign nationals are not exploited in South Africa. They are here to introduce slavery. That is why they label South Africans as "lazy". Correct that heading.
It’s just a myth I didn’t say it’s true if you wr listening attendively
Of course they'll say that. No employer will say he/she hates UNIONS and is for cheap labour 😊

Hi Tariro the undocumented foreigners claim that Sans are lazy, which is not right bcz we have our own minimum wagein our country so undocumented foreigners came desperately and fall into a trap, that doesn't mean Sans do not want contraction work they know their rights
True it’s a matter of desperation
My neighbours pay their helper 1500.she is a stay in nanny.she cleans, does laundry and take care of 2 Toddlers. The older toddler goes to daycare.
And if it’s a stay in it’s like 24hrs they can ask for your service anytime
