Merry Christmas Shawn 🎄 As someone who doesn’t get on well with short stories, I found this a really interesting discussion, and it’s made me want to try some again 😁
I am a short stories fan! And thought your mystery guest very enthusiastic about writing and reading short stories. So many interesting choices she gave so going to look for some.
I really liked what Danila said about short stories being convenient and enjoyable when you just want something little to pick up and don’t want to come in and out of a novel, that’s kind of how I read them. Collections don’t really feel like they are meant to be just devoured in one sitting and what a great list of recommendations!
I’d like to wish you a great 2025. It’s been great to follow you over the years and realize that I’m a Shawn-book type of reader. Hope I can also do some buddy reads in the future, though finding people with our book preferences is not easy.
Funny what she says about feeling guilty for reading. I'm not a writer and have a deep distrust of writers who seem not to be serious readers. Naturally that will often be speculation on my part
I enjoyed watching this. Your guest has such wonderful energy! Thank you for sharing.
I LOVE short stories!!! Such a fantastic mystery guest! I can't wait to look into her short stories - thank you both!
You betcha! So glad you liked the guest and enjoyed the chat! 💕

Short story fan here🙋♀️-love your mystery guest and her enthusiasm!
ohh! I love your mystery guest's titles (and energy)!! I need that collection and one of the books she recommended right now 👏🙌
Have a Happy New Year, Shawn! I love seeing a celebration of short story collections. Adding Danila’s book to my TBR.
Happy New Year (belatedly) right back at ya! I'll be so curious to hear what you make of the short story collection!
What a wonderful list of recommendations from Danila! Thanks Shawn! Happy New Year to you!
Thanks, and a belated Happy New Year to you as well!

The stimulation was overwhelming and I'm NOT complaining! 😜

Your comment made my day! Thank you so much! We have great taste in books, don't we! :)
Wishing you wonderful wonderful 2025, dear Shawn.
Thank you! I hope 2025 is starting out great for you too!
@@shawnbreathesbooksI am into McCarthy- finishing off the border trilogy. So, not a bad start 😊
Danila was maybe the most enthusiastic guest you’ve had! I love her passion for short stories.
Lucky Boy was a great book!
Oh, I'm starting to remember - didn't you and Doris buddy read it?
@ Maybe? 😂😂 I don’t remember but I know we both read it.

I am trying to think of a writer who has said publicly that they don't read very much, and I can't think of one.
Very interesting recommendations! Jesus' Son is the only one I read. Will read one of the Holocaust volumes. Best and best for 2025!
