- So glad you're checking this out. I'm sorry folks, I just couldn't wait until Monday to post this video. It's so good and I want you to see it.
This couple has had some life-threatening health issues and are probably lucky to be alive. They have trouble walking and yet their old and VERY dirty deck got really slippery when it got wet because of the algae on it. I came here to help them their yard but it didn't need help....but their deck sure did, so I decided to do this for them.

There was a time in our Country when people would help each other, do for each other. Neighbor would help neighbor; This has been disappearing from our society and replaced with people too busy, too uncaring, too self-centered & concerned only with 'self' to look beyond what only impacts their world. Thank you for what you did, for giving of yourself, your time, your effort, your hard work and heartfelt care for these home owners. It gives a home owner pride to have a home whose outer, welcoming view is so inviting with how it's tended to - such as what you've provided. Thank you for that, Sir.
Wow Kay I really appreciate your kind words. If we are to work on ourselves the best way to do that is to give. It's a good feeling to give, making it a win-win. A poll recently came out listing the happiest countries in the world and the US ranked 21st. The most prosperous nation and 20 countries are happier as a people than we are. That's a sad commentary showcasing the "all about me" society we live in. I love helping others so hope '24 will be a good year for that. I LOVED this! I'm a 70 year old lady who loves pressure washing. It brings me huge satisfaction in that weird way! Now I can't wait for Summer to get here so I can get the machine out again. Just a helpful hint, go back to this home after it has dried out and spray some Thompsons Water Seal on the deck and cement walkways. Or you could brush it on. I did that for my parents cement porches, one for downstairs and one for the upstairs entryways. And I helped my Sister do the same thing to her very large wooden deck and both places did not get anymore slippery mold or moss for a few years. And it was easier to clean after treating them with the Thompsons Water Seal.
And you did a fantastic job on both the house and deck 😊
Talk about instant gratification on the job ! You get to help people ,improve the look of neighborhoods, and get a sense of accomplishment from all your hard work. I pray you have many more years doing what you do, it is such a blessing.

Anyone can pressure wash a driveway or sidewalk, but I don't see many on YT doing a deck like this. It me 5 hours to do and although I was dead meat when I was done, I really enjoyed doing it. As always, let me know which part you liked the best.
The entire job looks nice! You may not want to know but there is a deck preservative (?) out there. Usually at a hardware store. Called Behr's. Makes them look nice for a few years til you have to do it again. Think now days they even have a grit type substance in them for non slip when wet. Never had a wood deck til 30 year ago. Wish we'd never moved. 😅😂🤣🥴 👍👍
Your pressure washing improved the buildings so much. What a difference
If you don't already have one, you need to get a Turbo Nozzle. It cleans in a cone shape and does much than those thin fan nozzle attachments. And if you get one, make sure you check the psi rating for the nozzle to match your pump.

Also, if you plan on doing a lot more pressure washing, probably wouldn't hurt to get some better equipment. A pump that puts out at least 3.5 gallon per minute, preferably 4. And a bigger, quick disconnect wand, and a Turbo Nozzle for sure. A surface cleaner would help too. But avoid any of those where the wand stick attaches directly to the circular spin head. Those are junk, and total waste of money. Need something with its own rigid handle and trigger attackment to where then your water hose attaches near the trigger.

The stick actually looked almost brand new when it was finished rather than about ready to be torn down at the beginning. Amazing results.
I love seeing these videos of folks helping out those in need. Two recommendations for you though. First, a 48" wand extension to save you from bending at the waist when doing ground surfaces. And also, a pistol type wand for when you're doing railings and such. Your back will thank you.

Routine maintenance and cleaning will keep your deck clean, beautiful and safe. I did mine, built that is 25 years ago when I brought the house. Staining and cleaning every 5 years, it looks like it was just built. You clean the inside of your home, don't see why human beings don't figure the outside need it more with all the crap that comes down in wind and rain.
You were right…it definitely needed to be cleaned! Good job!

UNMD, Doug here a day later. My mom is a German girl, came from there when she was 15-17 years old. She grew up listening to that music, and, got us 7 kids of hers into it. I haven't heard this type music since I was 10 years old. It makes watching why you do even more enjoyable!😁👍(memory lane, trying NOT to speed down that road!)🥺. Doug

Nice job. I'm sure the homeowner was pleased. I just hope they applied a sealer after the deck was cleaned.
You can take a leaf blower to blow off the dirty water and it helps it to dry faster.

Nice you have had an eye out for ANYTHING people need doing. Pressure washing was a good category. Wasn't expecting the color change on the white of the garage. That wasn't even the area with algae. A pretty Grime Line on the algae side. Wood can be a treat power washed. (My question would be on if you used a lower pressure so the wood doesn't fuzz.) Making the lady smile was a bonus. 20:23, and there we have a second gorgeous Grime Line. What a huge change on that deck. Very similar to making a yard navigable again, you are giving them back a huge area of space. Slip free, bright, outdoors and they can resume activities. Much appreciate you did the concrete porch and walkway as well.
Wow thanks Robert. I didn't go with low pressure I just tried to be careful with distance and "dwell time". One rail got a little fuzzy at the beginning and I adjusted. The deck is so old I'm amazed it held up to the washing as well as it did. Thanks for the nice comments! Now I have to research "grime line". 😁

I love pressure washing too! And I live in the northeastern mountains of Quebec Canada, so in spring of 2024 if everything goes well, I’m going to do all te sidings around the house! They are greenish and should be beige! This house needs a lot of loving and since I’ve bought about 2 years ago, I haven’t stopped working on it ! It’s a labour of love!

My deck is bigger than this and I decided to do mine one Sunday. It took over 10 hours. I was exhausted but it turned out beautifully. My deck is made of composite materials but you have to do one board at a time. Never again. I'll hire someone.

I was a painter for 40 years and I’ve done a lot of decks. It may look easy to just standing there holding that wand, but believe me after a while you’re back really starts hurting good job
You nailed it. Yeah the back was TOAST after that. You get so into the job that you don't think about it at the time, but climbing into the truck to go home, then getting out of the truck once home......yowza! I appreciate the nice comment!

I feel in my heart that’s a gas powered power washer. I’ve used electric and gas powered and gas powered do a great job like the one you did. I don’t know if they make battery powered ones like lawnmowers it doesn’t seem like anything but gas has the umph. I’ve gotten too old to do some of that stuff for long periods of time but I miss it. May God bless you for your kindness. If you don’t want the music mute it like I do then no music

Hopefully the owner coated the newly cleaned deck and rails with Thompson's Water Seal after it dries of course. He could also use the water sealant on the cement walkways
He's disabled, can barely walk. No he didn't seal it. The deck has wood rot in it because it's so old. I was trying to make it safer for them to walk on. Sealing it would be putting perfume on a pig. :)
