Bobbing their heads like that means they are about to regurgitate to feed you, as they would a mate. It means the bird is showing you affection the way it knows how. Lol.
which is not a good thing, it means that bird was probably hand raised as a baby, so she looks for mates in humans, _not_ parrots which she should, never pet a bird anywhere below its head and neck as it has glands under its wings that are sexual and touching the areas turns the bird on and frustrates it when you don't start the mating process, your bird should never look at you as a potential mate, it should look at you as a flock mate or parent, nothing more, the problem with handraising a parrot instead of letting it be raised by its parents before being sold is that the bird becomes utterly frustrated with any human it meets besides the one that raised it because it tries to court the humans and the humans don't reciprocate which makes the bird unhappy and turn mean, my macaw will never truly be friendly and let me tame him after 3 years of working with him because the lady who hatched him isn't me and she also hand raised him, leading to him biting us all out of anger, even though we've taught him many times that biting is bad.
What a kind and caring mum you are to your family of birds dog, and son. The bird reacts to the calming voice you have and gentle way you talk to your sweet bird. I enjoyed watching all the LOVE Emmy showed toward Ben, quit charming.
Gosh, this brings out so many fond memories. I used to have a sun conure, he was equally affectionate and loved to burrow into my clothes. Emmy is clearly happy, and your quakers and dog are cute, too!
This is beautiful, but don't forget just how loud sun conures can be! This cute, quiet snuggling is one thing, but every morning and every evening... better watch out
I see. She seems to get along with/tolerate your Quakers nicely, so it might be worth a try. Knowing these little parrots might become extinct in the wild sucks, that's when captivity breeding helps (reduces the # of wild-caught specimen, etc). IMO, even though Australia is home to many exotic parrots, I still think the Sun Conure is among the most beautiful ones (next to the Golden Conure and Rainbow Lorikeet). Anyway, your birds look well-fed, healthy and happy. Well done. ;]
Lol.."LUCKY" my African grey is madly in love with dad, if dad approaches him or starts to pet him, he would start bobbing his head like that then regurgitate food for my dad to eat...my dad goes like "oh please no..gross, we got that you love me but don't throw up" of course my parrot doesn't stop every evening when he spends some time with dad, he just has to throw up to feed dad, he follows him everywhere to the bathroom, even his bedroom. He also loves my brother, once he threw up a small piece if walnut and bit my brother from the corner of his mouth to open up to feed him of course my brother refused
I've had the same experience. A Sun Conure in my Veterinary Assisting Class had always shrieked at me for the past year and a half and just recently, after I passed by her cage every other day and said hello to her, she finally has taken to me :)
She's trying to regurgitate to feed him. It's something birds do to show their love.~ That's the whole head bobbing, and "Cheek kissing/pecking" motion she keeps doing. It's adorable!
I have a Linnie and he likes to nibble my ear's and likes me to scratch his head. He loves kisses and gives them back as well. He says meow and baby bird, he whistle's all kinds of thing's that I've taught him . Parrot's are so smart even the little one's. Better than a dog or cat, although i love them all but birds are my favorite .
I never really cared for birds until my mom started breeding them. I kind of fell in love with them. She had a quaker, Kemper, who adopted me as his human. He would preen me like your sun conure preens your Ben. Aaaaand he would attack everyone else in the house!
wow! it's so tamed! and so cute!! :) i have raised a goldfinch and now is very tamed and he likes playing with my fingers! he step on my finger and playing with my nail! haha.Although, i can't take him out of the cage...he's not so tamed as your parrot. :P :)
My peach faced lovebird used to ride around in my shirt like that when I was little, if I was wearing a long sleeved shirt she would climb down the sleeve and poke out at my wrist :)
I love this video. Emmy finally warming up to Ben. I went to an aviary center and I fed sun conures. Wasn't allowed to pet them. But I spoke to them gently and with affection. Finally one warmed up to me. It finally gave me kisses. I think he was a baby old enough to start eating tiny pieces of apples with the others.
Evie, the blue quaker is a female, and was purchased from a breeder when she was a few months old. She's 3 now. I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your Charlie! It would be heartbreaking.

Tink Bell yup.. my mom's Blue Headed Pionus does this to get as well..

the dog was like "yooho! hey, dwn below. yeah that's right, dogs need luv too" lol

Gosh, this brings out so many fond memories. I used to have a sun conure, he was equally affectionate and loved to burrow into my clothes. Emmy is clearly happy, and your quakers and dog are cute, too!

I had one when I was little, miss having them.
Emmy has found a birdie pouch where she feels safe and snug. So cute!
Exactly! :3
lol I like how she gave him the big rub. And it's so cute when birds can go underneath a shirt or jacket. Love your animals. :)
That first time you earn your bird's trust and are rewarded with those precious bird cuddles is so awesome... I miss my babies
So cute. I want a Ben for cuddles too!
Elle Driver

You give your pets so much love and patience that I actually envy your parrots.... : )
showing that he/she can regorgitate her food means she is ready to mate and have little birds.

Who is more cuter and adorable Emmy or Ben I wonder.... sweet video
This is beautiful, but don't forget just how loud sun conures can be! This cute, quiet snuggling is one thing, but every morning and every evening... better watch out
гг
-Never thought I'd feel this jealous of a bird over something other than flight-
Geez parrots can be snuggly, can't they? :3
Reminds me of one of my lovebirds which I had in the past. Also always went up crawling into my shirt.

OMG that room is a big mess!!!
Reggie Matheny My room looks like shit, and the only thing I got to show for anything is a semi-good memory, and good grammar.
No geniuses here.
I love Ben too. Can I kiss him?
aaaw... all the birdie love! So wonderful!!!
That is a lovely bird...
And parrots are the funniest birds ever...
Lol.."LUCKY" my African grey is madly in love with dad, if dad approaches him or starts to pet him, he would start bobbing his head like that then regurgitate food for my dad to eat...my dad goes like "oh please no..gross, we got that you love me but don't throw up" of course my parrot doesn't stop every evening when he spends some time with dad, he just has to throw up to feed dad, he follows him everywhere to the bathroom, even his bedroom. yes is a great sign of affection...that is the way birds feed their babyies
What an adorable happy bird. Reminds me of how Leo would cuddle.
Such a beautiful bird!
So many cuties! That seem like quite a happy bunch. :)
she loves you..is trying to feed you and bond with you. This is very sweet.
I had a Pekin chicken that would sit on my shoulder & preen my hair, I think birds are a lot more affectionate than people realise.
I LOVE YOU TO SEE LOVING ANIMALS LIKE THAT love it
like your collection! i mean the love to animals, big respect!
I can't wait to get my first bird someday. They are so lovely
She is precious! She is showing her love for him by bobbing and cuddling.

What a cute man! I'm jealous of that bird.

That's lovely, I have lovebirds 🐦🐦🐦
Absolutely adorable.
I love how she snuggles in under your chin in your jumper :)
What a sweetheart!!!
That head bobbing is regurgitative feeding behavior- it's a sign of a close bond and affection- kind of like a human making kissy faces.
This is so frickin cut
Absolutely lovely.
That's so cute!,sometimes it freaks me out to, when i think that they were dinosaurs in the past..
That was gr8! She really loves Ben! So wonderful.
wow! it's so tamed! and so cute!! :) i have raised a goldfinch and now is very tamed and he likes playing with my fingers! he step on my finger and playing with my nail! haha.Although, i can't take him out of the cage...he's not so tamed as your parrot. :P :)

I like you people, pleasing loving and gentle human beings... nice... :)
I want one now :( they're so affectionate and cute
My peach faced lovebird used to ride around in my shirt like that when I was little, if I was wearing a long sleeved shirt she would climb down the sleeve and poke out at my wrist :)
He's polishing his beak on your beard!
I have a cockatoo, and she'll sometimes try to preen my face. Fortunately, she stops when I yell "AAAH NOT THE EYELASHES"
Another quaker and sun conure parront! I am not alone!!
Emmy is a rescue/rehome bird, and very, very loved.
awwww .. such a cute bird
awwww that bird is so sweet!
Actually, it's from Day of the Dolphin by Georges Delerue. ;)
I love this video. Emmy finally warming up to Ben. I went to an aviary center and I fed sun conures. Wasn't allowed to pet them. But I spoke to them gently and with affection. Evie, the blue quaker is a female, and was purchased from a breeder when she was a few months old. She's 3 now.

Aaaand over there we got two quakers (aka Monk parakeet)
OMG You people are Gods angels!!!!
Oh my gosh She is so cute!!!
the birdie is trying to groom his "feathers".
Eventually that bird will use it's beak to saw off the heads of it's human captors. Truly we are all doomed.
So cute!
Well...I'm convinced...no pet favouritism here!!
