wild horse race is my all-time fav.it closes the show then you get to watch the fireworks.. come watch the rodeo this year!!! st.paul=bank post office market feed store barber shop & church...oh,and tavern and coffie shop
I also believe that most rodeo (like this one) treat horses and cattle differently... In this wild horse race the horse seem healthy and strong... a good sight... they seem full of energy... another good sight... Some of these horses will become great riding horses given that their teams treat them with care, respect, and are sure not to hurt them...

All these horse are FINE! By the end they are still all walking right YES! These men were sure not to hurt the animals in anyway... i bet you every single horse in that ring is now a good riding horse.
Whether this sport is cruel or not, depends on how each cowboy team treats its horse. Some just try to get the tack on it before calming it resulting in either the horse or the cowboys getting injured. Others first calm the horse then slowly introduce the tack. This is a much better way. If only the 'race' part was not included, this sport coud really become safer but still entertaining... Not only does is give the real cowbyos and farm girls of this world a bad name, it shows me how ignorant people that work with horses andmake their living raising livestock can be. well i just was at the rodeo at st paul today and a horse ran head first to another hore during the wiled horece race and the horse died and the cowboy broke his femer and the other horse broke its leg
I understand the importance of preserving American history--especially the history of the Vaqueros and the American cowboy. Many of the ideals of that culture make me proud to be a part of it--but some things need to be left in the past. Some not-so-great-bits of American history include inequitable treatment of minorites, women, and yes, animals. I am all for carrying on the tradition of rodeo--but as we progress forward in time I think some events need to be left in the history books.
The only reason 'city folk' thing this sport is appalling is because the only rodeo stories i have read in newspapers or magazines are about freak accidents where someone did something stupid and hurt themselves or an animal. Media focuses on bad news before good. Thats why we never here about how great and fun a rodeo is. Very Rarely does anything bad happen, thats why when something goes wrong, the media jumps on it and makes a HUGE deal out of it. Media always magnifies the unusual...
@biglizzle42 u no wats funny is i am a horse lover animal lover but i dont really see a big problem in this i have been to two radios none had this race but none of it was genrerally cruel i meen any animal sport can be cruel its just the way you go about it and thius is perfectly fine besides the people get damaged more then the horses
Horseloverkooder I don't care about how many "radios" you've been in.. these aren't wild horses. I saw a security camera and what they do to the horses, they tie their back legs together and tie their head to tails and put the buck stap on
this is so stupid..and dangerous. but i have a weird urge to do it...is this why my riding instructir/friends/friend's barn owner call me fearless? lol. dont get me wrong though. im a grizzly tough 90lb 13 year old girl! lol
Am I the only person who was laughing at how badly the COWBOYS were being treated? This event is supposed to be funny. The only people complaining are 13 yr old city girls with some weird horse obsession.
if u know anything about horses then u wouldnt say that. this is horse abuse believe it or not. you can see the terror in these horses eyes. they are flying backwards in fear. they are not livestock they are animals that are very sensitive to every move you make and how u treat them
Ridiculous, stupid. Don't men have better ways to prove their masculinity than to abuse horses? Horses are not predator animals, they are prey animals. They respond in fear. Wow, these guys are such great guys, what they're doing is would be like intimidating rabbits.
i don't mind the other stuff but i hate wild horse races. the horses are stressed and there not use to being in aloud enviroment with people shouting and all that stuff. they will end up getting stomach ulcers and will most likely get colic from them. the horse is scared out of it's mind. not trying to start a fight thats just my opinion
i am not "LITTLE LADY" and how can you enjoy this this is animal abuse and "what you do in the arena" is animal cruelty those horses are scared for life and afraid of people after the get out of rodeos i have been to rodeos and and seen what they do to the horses maybe you dont know what your involved in!!! i have helped horses form the rodeo regain trust but this stuff should be ilegal!!!!!!!!!!!
