Great~ I have been on Reaper for almost 10 years. I fiddled with Cubase & Studio )ne 4, both good in their own way, but I always come back to Reaper. She is my reliable and highly tweakable goto DAW.
I hope you feel better soon, Jon! It wasn't as rambling as you might think and it's really helpful. I see some really handy things that will speed up my work flow. Thanks for putting in the effort while you're unwell - I'm sure we all would have understood if you hadn't!
Hi! I really enjoyed the video and I'm currently taking your course on URM Academy on editing drums. I was wondering if you could explain the fast edit mode a bit more. I'd like have it as a button as well but I'm not sure what commands I actually need to make it work like that.
Hello Jon! Thanks for the video and I hope you get better soon. I was wondering...can you show me how to set up the custom fast edit mode you have? It is so handy indeed and I would definitely love to incorporate that to my workflow. Hope to hear from you soon☆ (After you are all well, of course)!
Is there a way to make some of the "top of window" toolbar buttons function as drop downs for additional toolbars, besides just opening the new toolbar in another window? I might just not be trying hard enough but im new at this.
I just started using Reaper and I love it (pro tools guy). Thanks for the video, it's amazing what reaper can do. I was looking for the fast editing mode but can't seem to find it. I guess you made the action yourself? How would I do that or can I download it somewhere?
Yeah thanks John, we appreciate your videos. When you feel better, I'd like to know if you or anyone of your subscribers know if any free or low cost VST for Autotune?
I have not, but I will give that a shot. Pretty nervous before I accept the opportunity to get my 1st paid deal. I owe this opportunity to John and Kenny. I'm usually doing punk or metal recording and only been at Reaper for year. Thank you for your response.
Sorry to bother you again Jon. Do you know how I can keep the play cursor a good size .? It always shrinks as the song progresses . I know if I reduce the song it keeps the play cursor a good size but sometimes that is impossible or not feasible . Thanks Millsy
print a mono stem of kick and snare with boosted attack (transient shaper) and EQ. add it to the group. Run dynamic split on that item alone with the edits applied to grouped items.
Can I save my custom keystrokes to a custom toolbar menu? I can only remember so many keystrokes. It would be nice to have a toolbar menu where I can select my custom cycle commands. Can I do this?
I suggest the following : - export all your keystrokes on a pdf file : shift + 1 or "help" : "key bindings and mouse modifiers", then print to pdf or - open the actions menu and filter by keystroke (so that you see all your actions with keystrokes first) or - if you can't remember the keystroke for one action, just find it in the actions menu and see its keystroke, or hover over the corresponding toolbar button if you made one for this action (make sure you check the "tooltip" option). When you create new keystrokes, you could have a specific toolbar with all the attached actions, so that you can find your keystrokes easily
Still 2 questions for me: 1. How did you manage to put the central toolbar in the center..? and 2. How did you achieve that awesome transparent look for takes?
Great~

9 minutes of coughing was removed in the edit so it felt much longer while recording!
Damn...
Thx for this vid, hope you get better soon Jon. Your vids are always topnotch and highly appreciated 🙏🏼👊🏼.
thanks for sharing - it's fascinating to see the many options that could be implemented only if... get some rest
Extremely helpful thank you, Jon!
Get healed soon Jon! Very useful as always.

Any chance we can get a download to your toolbar mate?
This was a great video!
Is there any download for this toolbar?

Hi Jon, What's the grey bar used to move and progress the track called in Reaper ?
Play cursor.

Hi Jon.
I lost the reaper tool bar at the bottom that does the record. Can you please help. What I should do to bring it back.
Thanks, best regards.

How to magnify top menu bar text size .. How to make writings like "file-edit-view-insert-item" etc in reaper?
Yeah thanks John, we appreciate your videos.

Oh I think you mean the scroll bars. I don’t think we can change them.
@@TheREAPERBlog Cheers Jon . It frustrates me that I cannot change the size !!
Do you have any tips on making Dynamic Split work better?
print a mono stem of kick and snare with boosted attack (transient shaper) and EQ. add it to the group. Run dynamic split on that item alone with the edits applied to grouped items.
hi jon, quick question, is there a way of panning just 1 side of a stereo track in a little or a lot whatever??
sure, might want to switch the track to dual-pan mode. (right-click the pan knob to choose modes)
awesome thanks
Is the drum editing course really going to be a thing?
6 years later but I'm currently starting it haha

How do you add a toolbar?
You showed the right click menu that appears on some buttons. Is it possible to add our own menus to custom buttons?
yup
I don't think so.
oh I misunderstood your question. Sorry for getting your hopes high
Ok, so they're special buttons and that functionality is not exposed to the user. Reaper rocks!
Can you share the custom action for fast edit?
^^^^^^^^ What he said
Found it here. reaperblog.net/2019/12/qa-37/ normal edit is in the comments
Ótima dica...
Where do I go to pay someone to personalize reaper theme for me..?
what do you need?
Titus Rivers I would like someone to customize the theme with my logo
yeah I sound bad in this video. I'm even worse today. yay
The REAPER Blog
Thanks for doing that even though you didn't feel well. I always watch and it's always helpful. Hope you feel better soon.
Great tutorial✌
Thanks Charlie

hmm, transparent. Maybe you mean Preferences>Appearance> Grid Line Z-order: [Over items]
Irritatingly you still cant remove the tool bar above the TCP!
you can replace it with an empty toolbar. not actually empty, you have to put in a separator and it should appear as empty.
