Burt Reynolds in a bottle. In my younger days I preferred the more sweet scents fx. Lacoste original, stuff from Calvin Klein etc. Nov I can't stand it. Today I use: Denim original, Old Spice original and Tabac original.
Fantastic fragrance. I still wear the aftershave today. It disappeared for a while in the UK but its back now. Very strong for an aftershave. Good projection and quite long-lasting. Several hours on the skin and many more on clothing. Station of the 80's Radio Luxembourg. That's what Denim reminds me of. Luxembourg was only on at night. The smell of Denim at night. My father wore it on nights out and filled the house with it. I stayed in listening to the charts on the radio. Denim was one of the ads. I was 10. Denim takes me straight back. That was 34 years ago.
Not sure if you got the notes wrong or if Fragrantica has it wrong but looks like you have a bottle of Denim Original edt, but your notes are from Denim 1976. Notes in Original edt are different, its main note is olibanum. No oakmoss, leather, or lavender in the bottle you're using, unless Fragrantica has the notes or bottle image wrong.
It was the signature scent of my father, I wear it from time to time myself and every time I smell it, it brings back those childhood memories. It is still very modern smelling scent to this day and does not feel dated at all. It was a commonplace in the 80's but if you are wearing it these days, it will certainly turn heads and garnish compliments as it is quite different from current mainstream designer production. Same for Davidoff Coolwater btw.
Brings tons of 80s memories where as a young man it was one of my signature scent along with Charlie. And the main reason was I couldn't afford anything more expensive at that time😊 It smells really good and I will get a bottle soon. Missed it. Thank you AC!
Charlie oh yeah mate, thanks for reminding me about Charlie. I was the same I couldn't afford anything expensive as dad was paing for my university and I wasn't allowed to work as the course was so tough, but thankfully now I can afford a few... I am just grateful to have this amazing hobby and nice people like you following me on here. Thankyou Archie, and do get a bottle of this for old times sake.
Just got this in the black bottle. Smells like Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, which is one of my all time favs. Fresh green, soapy shaving creamy, to me this fragrance is the balls. And my wife loves it. Winner. Thanks for the video my friend. Enjoy your day.🙂💈
I have to say, I was quite surprised by your review AC. After seeing so many reviews of very expensive fragrances, you chose an inexpensive, not cheap, 70s scent. Something that many people have forgotten about. I have a vintage bottle of Denim aftershave in my wardrobe which i love 😍. But the opening is too screechy for my wife/ very aldehydic. The edt however is very smooth as you said. And I believe that Denim's note breakdown is responsible for the classic notes I still love today such as oak moss, patchouli, leather and lavender. Is it old school? Yes, unashamedly! But despite its age and price there is not even a hint of synthetic tomfoolery. It's smooth and respectable. One of the few scents you can still find on grocery store shelves all-over Switzerland. Unfortunately right next to Axe 🪓 😕 😪. Remember the add campaign/ "For men who don't have to try." Hilarious 😂 . By the way, I believe that my very first scent as a teenager (English Leather) had a very similar effect on my olfactory pallette.
Thank you mate. I am a true frag head, I don't go by the brand name or the price tag , I go by the smell. I am so glad to hear that you find this amazing as well. Its almost impossible to understand how this budget fragrance manages to smell so good. I am yet to smell English Leather though :)
My first was YSL kouros. Journey started in 80s. BTW picked up milton lloyd silver few weeks ago. Bargain. Hopefully review of this clone near future. ✌️
Thank you for video! What a coincidence! Just yesterday I were trying to remember the name of aftershave I used when I were university student in 90’s. But I couldn’t remember the brand name Denim. My favorite was Denim Black. And my journey of perfumery addiction started from the same brand. Thank you again to let me remember the smell and the time.
@@ACSmellsGood I LOVE Declaration, but I never had much interest in Pasha de Cartier. I believe Pasha de Cartier was made by the same man who created L'dissey Pour Homme. I own that and adore that and might give Pasha another try.
You are the best. One of my sons and I love each other but not much in common. He's 30 and doesn't wear frags. I had a travel bottle of Eros i gave him and he's an instant frag head and what a joy it is. I've. turned him onto your, Dallas', Mr Smelley's videos. What fun!.
Just found your channel. I’m a Dane from Copenhagen and have bern into fragrance since I was 12 years old. Now in my early 50’s, and I think I can call myself a fragrance veteran. I used to subscribe to dozens of fragrance TH-cam channels. Now I only subscribe to 3 - Scent land, Sebastian from San Francisco (forgot his channel name - you’ll know him, he probably has the largest collection out there) and Raj from London (also of Indian heritage like you) I have just subbed to your channel. I can sense quality and fragrance desire when I see it. Great content. Cheers, Claus
Thank you AC for this review. This is an outstanding fragrance, i just cant say anything more. There has been repackaging recently. It now comes in a modernised black bottle, would you care on a comparison video between both versions and comment on the profile?
Hello mate, I think the black bottle and the packaging is the same fragrance. I have an old friend in Italy and he said that back in the 80s this was available in a black tin box in a black bottle.
After your 10/10 videos, I went back to try french lover which I was not initially impressed with but have grown very fond of. I've discovered that I really like nature type fragrances, and ones that are green. Could you recommend any or even make a video on your favourite nature fragrances? Great video as usual
Hey AC, I would absolutely recommend you opulent oud by Lattafa as a cheapie, let it macerate for a few months and it’s one hell of a oriental date fragrance with fantastic performance. I would love to see a full review from you on this one! Peace&Love
Very hard to find this or any Denim fragrances where I am in the states now. I got a bottle of the musk for the holidays back in the early 80s but hadn't worn it since. Lo and behold one night i was at Marshall's and there were bottles of the black, the musk, aqua and the EDT..i snagged them at 6 bucks apiece couldn't go wrong. I think this would sell very well here in spite of the more exquisite fragrances available.
Oh thats a shame. Could you not get it from Germany or Italy or is the postage going to be too much? I know that this is widely available in Germany and Italy.
@@ACSmellsGoodOmg 😱 ...I think you got me lucky haha ,I just found out that in a Dutch local shop in France they were selling it (Denim orignal After shave ) for 2.99 euros ...I picked up 10 bottles of 100ml each for less than 20 euros/17 dollars ,I'm over the moon really what a great fragrance 😍,I will transfer it to a small spray bottle so that I can use it daily as a EDT ... I'm so Happy 🔥
AC - lot of interesting Lattafa and other cheapies have launched, do try and review some plz, always a joy to hear you talk. I particularly suggest Lataffa Ejaazi and Lataffa Asad.
What a wonderful thing!!! My father uses this fragrance all his life and for me it will always be his olfactory memory. Here in Brazil it is no longer sold. Manly and fresh fragrance. barbershop
Miss those good 'ol Denim days...this is Nostalgia bottled

AC five years still rocking this cheap gem 💎 now and never gonna stop buying it.
Well worth it mate, well done !

Denim e muito mais antigo , para mim foi há 55 anos ! 👍🇵🇹
a frase do anúncio televisivo aqui era assim ( Denim , para o homem que sabe o que quer ! )
An amazing old school fragrance with great performance. And you know what, the aftershave smells even better!
This fragance is a confidence booster. Love it
AC never ceases to amaze with his picks. Solid choice brother!

This is a great line of affordable fragrances indeed :)
