  • Sri M speaks on the 7th Anga of Ashtanga Yoga - 'Dhyana'
Sri M - "Dhyana is defined in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras as :
    'tatra pratyaya ekatanata dhyanam'
    Roughly translated it means,
'Lengthening, of the intention to meditate, of dharana, is called 'dhyana'. It can be two things - either deliberately trying to extend the dharana or when the dharana becomes perfect it extends itself to dhyana. Dhyana requires the state of mind to be in dharana for a length of time, which is almost impossible..."
This online session took place on 10th June, 2020 in Madanapalle.

    Deep gratitude,Sri M. 🙏🙏🙏
Your talks help immensely in understanding the whole path of meditation for a person like me on the path. I was having such difficulty understanding the subtle differences between dharna and dhyana for years (like 15 years haha). Your talk on this (and on other angas) really clarifies different stages of path towards samadhi.

I've been finding it hard to find the right words to explain how to get from धारणा to ध्यान to समाधी। Didn't discover it through a Guru or Book but it just happened taking inspiration and guidance from people, nature, incidences etc one is exposed to in beautiful country like भारत.
प्रणाम and I thank you for helping me find words for inner experiences. I feel eager like Eklavya must have felt probably. These experiences leave me more confused and yet calmer than water in a pot.
I've few questions and want to spend time with you. May I request you to allow me some do so please?
