I can remember the Ready Brek advert before gladiators. If this was in Decemember 1999 I would have been 10 years old back then. I loved this show as a kid!!
Sadly the reason it left our screens in the first place was because the ITV Schedule was being changed constantly and as a result fans were missing it. The TV Guides magazines were of little help because these were late changes.
Regardless of Sky's crap attempt to bring it back, ITV have a whole host of shows to rebrand and relaunch. Including this! The theme music makes the show timeless.
I know that I'm replying to a nine year old comment but they doing anther reboot again! This time on the BBC. Let hope it's in a bigger arena than Sky's poor attempt at a set.
Yeah, some things should stay in the past. The show's heyday was 1992-95. But they let it limp on until 2000 where everyone had lost interest by that point. I'd like to see ITV bring back some classics but with so much negativity towards the channel these days (mostly justified, not completely), I'm surprised anything survives.
These are the BBC and ITV schedules should still have today. It should still have children's programmes every weekday morning and afternoon on BBC2 and BBC1 and every weekday afternoon and sunday mornings on ITV. It should still have schools programmes every weekday morning on BBC Two. And the BBC should still have Live & Kicking on a saturday morning, ITV should also still have children's entertainment morning show every saturday but not SMTV or CD:UK. Grandstand on BBC1 and BBC2 every saturday and sunday morning. Now these days British Television is crap and has gone downhill with boring shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, Britain's Got Talent, Dancing on Ice and X Factor. These shows should never have been commissioned. We don't want talent shows such as these. We just want normal saturday night family shows such as Gladiators, Generation Game, Blind Date and The National Lottery.

This was a brilliant example of how good Saturday night entertainment once was.
