The man and zone guy passing off assignments is called a Funnel technique (The coding carries over from Cover 1 when you man up someone). Some coaches call it Banjo but to me Banjo is more of a pure man on man exchange technique. It’s a way to get numbers and leverage on the backfield with 2 on 1. This can also work with a TE in Cover 1, giving a 3 on 2 advantage utilizing the funnel technique.

I don't understand your question.
Sounds like you are talking about individual press which is done just like individual back off but down on the last steps instead of up.

I always leave match on, even with zone drops, because I go back and forth. But I do believe this works regardless
