Sandpaper or Gritty Feeling on your Hot Tub Shell / Hot Tub Feels like Sandpaper

Is a drain and fill necessary after reducing the pH? Or can I simply return the water to balance?

@@joetothec5130 As long as your TDS (total dissolved soilds) are good, just bring the PH back up.

I added 3 bottles of PH down, ran the pumps at full for 20 min on 30 off for several hours and then let sit over night. The next day the caked on grit was gone. I then dumped the water, cleaned the shell with a hose. All good so far. No scrubbing at all.

I use muriatic acid but you could use cleaning vinegar.

Muriatic Acid. BUT. Just put in 10 jugs of cleaning vinegar into the water, run for 30mins, let sit for 12 hours. Then run for 30mins, turn power off and drain.
