I became an adult very gradually and painfully. I wanted it more than anything and at the same time wasn't capable of it. Like I was being dragged kicking and screaming, but also clawing and crawling and fighting for every inch, all at once. I knew it was happening. It hurt so much. I was in agony and I was happier each passing moment than I had ever been as a child.

Trixie talking about going from HS to College, being too busy to visit family hits real and hits hard. Grad school has been the same experience for me. Can only go home a few times a year, and then when covid hit it was down to basically never seeing them for a year plus.
I've had the same experience during my masters, I'm in a different country but same timezone so I just harass my family on the phone at any time of the day that I get the chance to make sure I can keep up with them haha. But it's not the same.
