This scene actually. It's the best character introduction ever made.
This is one of the best character introduction ever done, like everything you need to know about her is shown in this one short scene without dialog, like nothing in this can be cut, it literally is unimprovable, Pheobe Waller Bridge really is a mastermind.

This was such a great character introduction. Without dialogue, you just know something is off with this woman.. Sure, there are some meanies who would do that to a child (not many, though). But that in addition to the whole 'smile' part, where she fails the first natural time and then perfectly mimics a smile after observation. Very authentic and creative!😁
This opening got me totally hooked and what a ride.
This was the perfect introduction to Villanelle.

This was sad. She tries to be nice in her own way and gets rejected. No wonder she felt need to get revenge. I really feel sorry for her.
That's exactly it. Even the soundtrack proves it. Funny how people tend to notice only the first layer in this scene... She gets petty when she doesn't get what she wants. Duh. But _why_?
