    Heres my 2 cents. Keep the kioti and buy a 50hp trackloader (skidsteer with tracks) or whatever size is in the budget., new/used. Most offer 0% lately. U will have another arsenal in the fleet . Tractor , mini ex and a trackloader will work great together! One shines in one particular job while the other in another different job. The skid will outperform the tractor in any loader or digging work easily while the tractor will be great with brush hogging ,tillage ,and planting. Dont know if i would go through all the hassle with buying new and then having to sell your tractor only to upgrade just to a 67 hp . I wouldnt trade the tractor in either. Still enjoy the vids.

    I just purchased a 2007 kioti dk45s with cabin 12 speed shuttle shift. I just did ALL fluid maintenance and fixed a temp gauge issue . I traded from a bobcat 743 skid steer (which I loved as well).... I’ve out about 30 hours on my kioti in the 2 months I’ve owned it and love it, thought I was really going to hate the 12 speeds, but everything about it has an ungodly amount of power: steering, traction, lifting, and stability (wheels all the way out). My kioti dealers (yes two) have been more open arms than the nearest kubota and mahindra tractor dealers....my dk45s seems a little heavier built than your kioti for some reason (I’m not the expert on kioti models, but the dealer did TRY selling me a brand new 45hp openstation and I honestly wasn’t impressed with it vs the 2007 I ended up purchasing).... i also wasn’t interested in emissions BS being I hear so many failures (locally , from our John Deere dealer)....needless to say, I was scared of TYM (due to my bias false perception), good luck with your decision

    Upgrade from 60HP Kioti to 67HP TYM? That doesn't really make much sense as a 7HP difference in tractors is zilch.

    • @kapperoutdoors
      @kapperoutdoors  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh how wrong you are... IMO.... There are 3 major ways that you 'feel' a usable power increase. First, as you say, the 7 HP. Second, the Hydro vs shuttle; Hydro's use (read Lose) up more HP due to the system design, so the actual hp number is unclear, but there is a clear loss of HP with a hydro. Thirdly, the weight of the unit. A 100 hp lighter tractor has less usable power than a 50 hp tractor that is much heavier. Not to mention the HP is much more usable when you have 12 speeds versus the hydro with 3 speeds.

    • @eosjoe565
      @eosjoe565 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree completely. For a given HP you'll always get a bit more power to the wheels with gear drive vs. hydro but it is not earth shattering. Any stated PTO HP rating already takes the hydro loss into account. I also agree that weight is everything in a tractor - everything. Weight = traction, weight = stability. Without weight you'll never get the extra power to the ground. But typically as tractors get larger and more HP the weight goes up accordingly. But I still think 7HP isn't enough of a jump to warrant a new tractor unless you had a PTO implement that could benefit. Even a difference of 15HP isn't likely to ever be felt at the wheels.

    I like just the size and stance of it compared to the kioti but i feel as though the gain of 7hp isnt enough to consider especially since the kioti is working fine. Now if you were considering the larger one (74hp) I could see why it would be worth it. I would still buy the biggest i could get within reason of course. Once again good luck to ya and may your choices be wise.

      @kapperoutdoors  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Two things: First, read my reply to EOS JOE on the 'actual' HP increase. Secondly, it is a MOOT point since I just signed on a 78 HP! How's that!!!???? :)

    I hate how they are making everything "sealed" without grease zirks. It means when they break, they are going to be expensive to replace. They are making everything with planned obsolescence now a days, just making new things last until either you finish paying it off or the warranty ends. Just look at the new riding lawn mowers with the new plastic transmissions. I would keep your Tractor, it does everything you want it to do it seems. If anything, I would find a used older model that is bigger than the one you have if you need it for big jobs that your original can't handle, but don't need it every day.

    • @eosjoe565
      @eosjoe565 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely!!! I'll take grease zerks over sealed joints any day. Sealing thing is nothing more than a cost savings technique. By keeping things properly greased most joints will last the life of the tractor. My current JD tractor does not have any grease fittings on the MFWD drive shaft U-joints which is just shameful.

    Good video. Enjoyed watching it. You know what you have now and you’re familiar with it. That’s worth something in itself. It comes down to if the benefits of upgrading justify the additional cost. Once you’ve researched and thought it all through well .. give it two more weeks. If you’re still thinking the same thing after sitting on it for 2 additional weeks its probably the right move.

  • @WhiskeyKing813
    @WhiskeyKing813 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    This will not be big enough to run a batwing, you should really consider the next larger horsepower unit. The acres you own are not going down any time soon so implement size needs to match the new acreage. Not my money just an opinion for what it is worth.

    • @bearkatljl
      @bearkatljl 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would run a 12' batwing. My Kubota M6040 ran one without any trouble. trust me no one was more surprised by that than me but it did it very well.

    • @WhiskeyKing813
      @WhiskeyKing813 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It "will" run it but not on thick grass or going up a hill. Using small tractors to do big jobs wears them out fast and gets people hurt. I am sure you could ballast the hell out of it and make do but what is the point of buying a new tractor to just make do?

    • @justanotheridiotredneck
      @justanotheridiotredneck 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Batwings should be ran on a category 2 tractor. A big hp category 1 will absolutely run the implement in easy conditions, but it's just not enough tractor. A f150 will pull 15000 lbs down the road... doesn't mean you're doing the truck any favors.

    • @WhiskeyKing813
      @WhiskeyKing813 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The F150 is going to take a long time to stop also. I would just hate to see him end up buying another tractor in two or three years to actually get something appropriately sized.

    • @bearkatljl
      @bearkatljl 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand what you are saying and I thought the same thing. I almost didn't buy a batwing for my 6040 because most of the people telling me it would run it were people who were going to make a commission off my purchase, so I was skeptical to say the least. I was using an 8' JD and my tractor ran the 12' bat wing just as easily as it ran the 8'.

    I’m my opinion the kioti 6010 is the best hydro in its class for the 60hp engine and still being hydro. It has the best layout and comfort with good loader lift height.
    In the 75hp power shuttle class, this is as large as you can go without def. I would go with th ls mt573 Again best layout ,comfort, build, and fully loaded. I have 1600 hours on my ls. In two years. 100 head beef farm so it gets worked. Looking at getting a 2nd ls and the kioti ns6010

    Tell us about the dealer and their service reputation. Parts availability etc. Can you walk in and purchase maintenance items without special ordering them? Choose a common part and ask if they have them in stock. Being down a couple days while they have them shipped in is 2 days of productivity lost.

  • @garycrumrine9538
    @garycrumrine9538 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    7 HP doesn't sound like a lot, but let's not forget he is going from an HST to a geared transmission. Which is inherently more efficient in operation. That 7 HP is going to FEEL like 10 to 15 in the field, and he can better match the RPMs to the task. With that said, I agree that a serious look at the 75 Horse may be prudent. But you have to fit the tractor to the task. I have always found a task for the increased power when I over bought as it opened up possibilities.

    If i may respectfully add my two cents.... I watch every video on your channel and have never heard you complain about your current tractor tractor. Why do you need an upgrade? It sounds like you just have the itch for a new tractor. You still have 2 1/2 years to pay on the one you have. Don't go further into debt. You will immediately be very upside down on the new tractor.

    • @kapperoutdoors
      @kapperoutdoors  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well there's a little more to it than just what you're saying which I'll explain later on. But it could just be the itch for something new, bigger, and better :-) but there's a lot more that I'm taking into account. Thanks

    Height wise, will it still fit in the garage? The serviceability issue you raise is an important one. Given the locations of many of the service items, are there many "Specialty" tools that you will need to perform self maintenance? It almost looks like they want you to bring it in for service versus maintaining it yourself. You mentioned previously that one of the reasons you are looking to go bigger is the performance the Kioti has shown pulling heavy ag equipment specifically the big drills and doing dirt work. Are you thinking that a Utility tractor is going to solve that issue? I'd almost want to see what it can do in those situations. Also your trails are somewhat built to fit the Kioti, will you have to revisit and trim? I see right away that a new bucket will be needed if you want to retain the ability to pick things up. (4-way) Take a long hard look at the 75 horse. I am not certain of the price differences involved, but you know there is no substitute for HP, AND if you have it, you will find a use for it. Power AND the ability to do more work in the same amount of time is your focus now, so it has to make fiscal sense. If you were to wait two years until you have the Kioti paid off, then opt for the bigger machine, you would have two to choose from, better fit the machine to the task, and potentially have two machines in the field versus one. Which doubles your productivity. As it is, you are pretty much a one man show and can only operate one at a time. That two machines in the field would be a game changer. It also may afford you the opportunity to step up into the 100 HP range for even bigger projects. Kioti has the PX series that fits if that is where you are ultimately wanting to end up. BUT seriously, You would be taking what is a passionate hobby and turning it into a thriving business at that point due to investment costs. Look hard at the ROI Joe. Invest and upgrade where it makes sense. Granted I am not doing what you do, so I can't judge the need as well as you can in the field, nor do I have insight into the future needs of the two projects so take it with a grain of salt, but I don't fully see the need from here. Perhaps you can show us more in-depth to better understand what brought you to this point. Clearly something has put a burr under your saddle on this subject. Lastly, are you contemplating upgrading the Bobcat at some time in the future as well? That thought opens a whole new can of worms doesn't it? Good luck with the decision my friend. I am certain it is driving you crazy for sure.

    • @kapperoutdoors
      @kapperoutdoors  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah this has been alot to take in! No, I am not even remotely considering bobcat change. There are so many reasons that I will go into in a video. thanks

      The service thing would probably be a little challenge as they are a new dealer, but I'm sure they will work things out. Just like all other new dealers across the country, as long as they remain in business, anyway :). My longest parts wait times have been with John Deere! No kidding.... Kioti got me parts in a couple days. TYM has a big plant in NC. I do not want 2 tractors, can't handle that, nor can I afford that. This is an 'all in one' operation. I did spec out the 74 hp and the specs were nearly the same as the 67, so I didn't feel there was a ton of gain... However,........ Since that time I have found an even larger unit, with MUCH more weight and power at a phenomenal cost, so I went with a 78 HP :). Stay tuned my friend... thank you.

  • @houndsmanone4563
    @houndsmanone4563 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't know Kapper. The TYM looks beefier. How far do you travel for service? I know you cannot depend on the Kioti dealership for repair so I'd travel the distance knowing you have dependable service folks with TYM. How much maintenance will you be doing? If you're doing all the work, then the only thing is knowing you travel to the dealership to get necessary supplies. I have a shuttle drive on the Massey compact and I love that. I just move the handle forward or rearward to go that direction and I enjoy that feature. I think you'll like the shuttle a bit better. Okay, looking forward to Part 2. Thumbs up.

      That is a big concern, on how long the Kioti Hydro will last. After using it for years, I am realizing that for heavy activity, bush hogging and implements that cut into the earth, a shuttle will produce much more power and should last much longer.

    Can't compare a hydro to a shuttle. I had a yanmar 324 hydro and it was gutless. Got rid of it and got a Kioti CK2610 shuttle. It felt like it was a 50 horse compared to the yanmar in hydro.

      yes, that's what I tried to explain to a few on why I only started out looking at a 67 hp. Just going from hydro to shuttle is HUGE, even in the same HP range. In hindsight, I'd have got a shuttle long time ago, if I knew the things I do now, but that is also life... A constant learning curve. thanks.

      Guess you wouldn't of purchased a new one had the Kioti been a shuttle shift.

    Knapper, former USMC here and I live over in MO about 3 hours from you and went to school at SIU-C. Came across your channel last week and I’ve been binge watching ever since. I have 120 acres. I’m ready to upgrade from our 50 year old gas Massey 135. I was really looking hard at a Kubota HST 40-50 hp I until now. Going to check out these two brands and with most of my work bush hogging, discing for food plots, plowing and eventually getting a rotary tiller maybe a power shuttle is the way to go? Maybe I’d use the front loader for picking up firewood, etc but no plans on moving dirt, etc. We did that years ago putting in the ponds. Most movement will be straight line and getting all the HP into the tires/dirt may be an advantage over the HST with a power shuttle. Thoughts?

      First of all Semper Fi man! Thanks for your service. Glad you are enjoying the channel so far! You'll find that there are really no other channels as diversifed. I would take a strong look at Branson, and maybe Yanmar too. Some of the Korean made are super solid. They have been building huge machines long before John Deere was even an idea. I recommend a loader on any farm because you just don't know the uses you will have for it and you might take on new projects that it would come in handy for. Not to mention if you add counter weights to the front they probably cost at least about a third of a loader cost and you get nothing in return. As you will see in my vids, the loader is invaluable.. From what you say, I'd say go with a power shuttle. Hindsight is always nice (and a pain in the a$$ sometimes:), and if I knew then what I do now, I'd have got a shuttle on my last Kioti. Especially with a lot of heavy mowing and ground cutting work. Best of luck man, holler if you get over this way. I am also always looking for mini TH-cam road trips to get out and meet others, and if you are 3 hours, that isn't too far. Take care, hope to see you more! thanks.

    If I was going to be spending 30-40k on a tractor I’d be going to all the tractor dealers within 30 mile or so and try them all. I’d skip kubota and John Deere, wicked expensive for what you get. How about LS or Yanmar or mahindra... I’m with many of the folks on here and would be more apt for going to the 75hp instead of going sideways to another 60 hp.

      I have done much of what you say. Priced out Kubota, Deere, mahindra, Case, Holland, etc. They are grossly over priced, (much like when I bought the Kioti). I did not price Yanmar, they did not have the larger unit. Also, you are right, and after looking more I pulled the trigger on a 78 HP! It is a destroyer! You'll see soon :) thanks.

      Kapper Outdoors I found a new Holland boomer 25 for 9500 (AUD) would that be cheap or expensive for a 25 hp tractor with 1200 hours ?

    Was the Branson any quieter than the TYM? I know the TYM didn't have R4 but it looks the Kioti was wider?

      The Branson wasn't really any quieter. Most of these tractors have several width adjustments though for the tires and rims. Good luck I love my new Kioti

    Okay on a side-by-side comparison I can see it is a little beefier tractor I would keep the AG tires and order the other tires it just give them a chance I think you will like them especially for traction purposes

      Well Mike, you got your wish!!! My next tractor has AG tires on it!!!! woo hoo!!! I'm going to love the traction!
