Love your videos, I have listened to your audio book 20 times over. I listen everyday to and from work. Would love to turn into a pro and change my family's life. Thank you for the knowledge.
No but I'm going to start lol I know of a couple soft games but they are a little crazy double board bombpots with no limit Omaha lol 😂 I was crushing them before but failed to put the money away 🤯
Its so hard to finish watching poker motivating videos cause when half way I always get too excited to play and want close the video 😂 this was a great one Jonathan but I couldnt finish it 😎👍🏻
I've played 109 bullets of tournament poker online. Avg buy in is $11 and I have profited $15.39 PER BULLET. I only started with $100 and I am up to about a $1600 Bankroll in the last couple months when figuring in a little bit of cash game and a few sit n go tournaments.
In fairness... A new CD after a win is a pretty reasonable way to treat yourself 😂 I would presume it wasn't just the CDs that forced him to quit Great content and insights JL! Keep it up
As a mostly recreational player who now actually has income to work with (and would play at stake/volume combos well below my means) I think of it as a "maximum downswing size" metric. Basically, if I play 10NL with a 3BB/100 win rate, I can expect to at some point have a 5% chance of a downswing of $1000 or more if I play for long enough, which is insanely large compared to what many 10NL players would expect.
In a different bankroll video, you said that people shouldn't play poker to supplement their monthly income, which is exactly what I was planning to do. Why shouldn't I do that, and what should I do instead?
@Jonathan Little, Thank you very much for this, but how have you not put out an App yet that helps with all of this, and if you have or support and App that is already in use, PLEASE tell us which one ?
been watching your teaching videos aswell as reading modern poker theory by michael acevado, all i can say is thank you. i didnt truly realise how little i know until now.
I was hoping to here an additional tidbit on the CD guy. Every time a new one comes out I watch simply because of Mr. Eminem CD lover. Maybe next time we find out he bought every Eminem CD and a nice CD player and headphones. ;)
My general rule is take out a percentage of my winnings each month once I hit a certain target, then the target increases each time I withdrawl this means I never go broke and build my bankroll steadily.,
A very low risk 3%. I think he went very low for people who dont ever want to move down in stakes to adjust ROR. If ur willing to move down in stakes if u sustain a long downswing, u can use a higher ROR strategy since moving down also lowers ROR.
Okay, so in 6 max cash games, where do i draw the line with b-I's? I chewed through 8 stacks on a very bad tilted day, and Im thinking I need better stop loss control.
Can you just answer the most important question all players that don’t have a bankroll . How do you build one ??? What type of style do u have to play to build it ???
Starting bankroll has to come from somewhere. Maybe you start by funding it with $400/month from your job or taking $6000 from your vacation fund/savings. Somewhere. Or like JL said early on, grind the micro stakes starting with $50. You can start by grinding freerolls too.
It doesnt mean you never use the money for the rest of your life. It means if you want to move up in stakes to increase your EV, you need a bigger bankroll. If you have a sufficient bankroll to play the game you are at, then you can use the money above that amount. But you will not be able to play bigger games unless you increase your bankroll.
@qsdailydose8970 May 3rd Baby!! My worthless local casino is FINALLY opening their poker room back up. So Yes, I will be a whole hell of a lot happier when I can just go play instead of the rigamaro I have to pull of just to play one lousy session of poker.
If ur playing full time, youve already grown a huge bankroll that u keep depositing into and withdrawing from for all of ur expenses, this video doesnt apply to u. Youve "graduated" already.
I have noticed a pretty consistent pattern for live cash. I'll have 1-2 months of decent winning sessions. Then I'll have 1-6 weeks of losing sessions. When I'm losing its always to donkeys who don't understand basic concepts of poker like pot odds, and equity. They'll call my pre flop raise with a hand like 74o. They'll flop a gut shot and refuse to fold only to be rewarded on the river and take my stack. Meanwhile I've got a set, or a premium over pair. But when I slow down and don't bet so hard vs these donkeys then they miss and I just end up scooping small pots vs them. It's beyond frustrating.
Its not that people forget about managing bankroll. They either dont understand what that looks like or are problem gamblers with zero self control and will certainly go broke.
He’d probably rather you just sign up for his site’s training, really. And you can in turn have him sign up for the training on your chess training website.
there are online sites that don't care what state youre in, but also you don't need to be as conservative with your bankroll if you're not planning to play full time. If you only have $1000 you're willing to play with but if you lose that you can make another $1000 to play with over the next few months then it's no big deal. If you've got $1000 to your name and decide to play 2/5 for a living, you've got about a 50% chance of making it through the first day 😂
Do YOU keep a proper bankroll? Be honest... 🤥

Your description of the once or twice a year, lots of satellites, cool trophy, etc. is a perfect description of my favorite place to play. LOL

What's the name of you new book and is it on audible? Please and thanks

I don't. I take way too many shots esp tournaments
My general rule is take out a percentage of my winnings each month once I hit a certain target, then the target increases each time I withdrawl this means I never go broke and build my bankroll steadily.,
I'm generally pretty cautious so will not take shots at the highest stakes as I consistently win on the mid-stakes unless I table select well.
What is the risk of ruin with this cash game bankroll requirement?
A very low risk 3%. I think he went very low for people who dont ever want to move down in stakes to adjust ROR. If ur willing to move down in stakes if u sustain a long downswing, u can use a higher ROR strategy since moving down also lowers ROR.

Or better tilt control
What cds did he buy though? Master P?
I make 518 big blinds/100 hands in 1/1 what should my bankroll be?
Can you just answer the most important question all players that don’t have a bankroll . How do you build one ??? What type of style do u have to play to build it ???
Literally he covered that the first 8 minutes of the video

If we are not going to withdraw money then what is the point of playing poker ?
Once you have a way sufficient bankroll, go ahead and withdraw some money from it.

It sucks when the closest beatable game, or any game is 1,5 to 2hrs away. Makes it hard to "Play a lot".
You will probably be a lot happier if you lived closer to a good game if you love poker it’s your life

If you’re playing full time don’t you have to withdraw to pay bills, eat, etc
If ur playing full time, youve already grown a huge bankroll that u keep depositing into and withdrawing from for all of ur expenses, this video doesnt apply to u. Youve "graduated" already.
Good morning Mr.Little
Hello there!
Hey Jonathan…how would I go about sending you info about a pretty crazy pot I played recently that you may decide to break down for us?
I have noticed a pretty consistent pattern for live cash. I'll have 1-2 months of decent winning sessions. Then I'll have 1-6 weeks of losing sessions. When I'm losing its always to donkeys who don't understand basic concepts of poker like pot odds, and equity. They'll call my pre flop raise with a hand like 74o. They either dont understand what that looks like or are problem gamblers with zero self control and will certainly go broke.
Avoiding the regs is the easiest way to win above 1bb/100
Hi johnathan. I’ll teach you chess if you teach me poker :)
He’d probably rather you just sign up for his site’s training, really. And you can in turn have him sign up for the training on your chess training website.
So then for those of us in CA with no online option if we don’t have $6000 to play with I guess we just don’t play. OK
Well, don’t live in such a forsaken place
You’re not wrong…
there are online sites that don't care what state youre in, but also you don't need to be as conservative with your bankroll if you're not planning to play full time. You are technically taking a shot at $200nl if your only option is live and you don’t have a proper BR.
first
Lol
