Brilliant as usual, I especially love the regeneration/joining scene at the end. This particular ‘monster’ really made an impression on me as a child, I’m not exactly sure why, perhaps just because it is so different to anything else.
Melkor? It made a massive impression on me as well. For years afterwards I would occasionally pretend to be a "stone robot", and had forgotten where the idea had come from (I was pretty young at the time). It was only many years later that I put two and two together and realised it was from this story.
Excellent work. If we had your version of Traken with the work already done on the blu-rays of Castrovalva and Logopolis it would be a superb special effects trilogy....
Love the way Kassia puts on Melkurs collar, so willingly not realising at all what fate awaits her. Great effects, especially when Kassia is consumed by the source/killed by Melkur literally moments after becoming Keeper.
Thanks! I've definitely learned a lot over the last year of doing these. The downside of that is that I'm itching to go back and redo some of the stories I've already done, but there are still so many left to do! :-)
Absolutely stunning! In my opinion; this is absolutely the way the masters regeneration/body snatching was supposed to look - the VFX artists were just limited by the technology available to them. Top quality job my friend!
I don't know whether this had already been done or not, but assuming it hadn't, as simple and obvious idea as it is I really think you did us all a huge favour by having Tom Baker and Lalla Ward back in the punt where there were first encaptured, It seems such an obvious thing now I can't work how why or how nobody thought of it before.
I’ve wanted too see the actors from the old series put into new who Tardis’es .. with modern effects and sets. Or the retro TARDIS made larger and more impressive. I grew up in the Tom Baker era. I enjoy them… but it would be fun to watch the performances amongst impressive sets.
How is the classic Tardis not impressive I mean it's not like it's any cheaper than any of the new who ones except maybe the the one in series 5 in the TV movie
I've seen "The Keeper Of Traken" several times. I've always thought that it's a great episode, but if it had had these special effects, it would've been better.
Brilliant. If you can achieve this from home I'm guessing, why can't all stories have the alternative CGI effects option, instead just one new one commissioned for the Blu-Ray collections!?
I know right. I've done dozens of stories in less than a year, and we get a couple a year on the Blurays. I do these with free software with no experience whatsoever in animation, video effects or editing. There's no excuse for every story not to be given new optional effects on the Blurays, rather than only one per season!
Thank you so much! And yes, I think about doing Blake's 7 A LOT! I ♥️ B7, but it scares the hell out of me because there are just SO many effects shots. All those model shots in space, the amount of masking and stabilisation involved! And things like the teleport effect are so iconic I'd worry about mucking them up. And then there's the guns. I probably wouldn't do anything to the Federation guns, but what about the Liberator guns? Would adding a bit of extra glow be enough, or could they do with some kind of ray? So much to think about! I think if I get to the point where I run out of Who stories, and I'm still jonesing to do more effects, then B7 would be next. But my goodness it would be a lot of work 😅
@@cunningmunki sarcophagus would look amazing with updated effects and the first few episodes for definite. If you ever do, I'll be very keen to see it
I'm quite confused. There was that scene where the Doctor appeared mesmerized and obeyed the Melkur-Master, kneeling at his command and remaining so until the Melkur-Master allowed him to watch Tremas kill the Warden (which he allowed without interfering, as Melkur had commanded). Then there was a cut to Adric and Nyssa, and then the doctor suddenly spoke again as usual. Was he under the spell of the source or did the Master have mind control over the Doctor or what was going on, why did he obey first?
Hey excellent work on this story! I love the end part especially. I wanted ask you, would you be willing to make a green screen video for the Time Scoop in your Five Doctors like you recently did for your Tardis green screen? I think it would be a great resource for other videos and I would definitely use it.

@@antenant9294 Yeah they're a bit like r-robots.
Actually w-we haven't used robots in like, 12000 years!

Very intelligent Tom Baker, my Hero and remember Barry Proffitt Dr Who exhibition's, my Hero, Blackpool Central Pier and those were the days✔
Fantastic piece
A new set of visuals at last. Well done for your hard work on this brilliant four parter. Thanks for posting it.

The Keeper of Traken, was possibly the best ever DrWho story. Made even better with Sheila Ruskin and Sarah Sutton in the cast.
Your work continues to grow and get better every time. I think this some of your greatest stuff. Keep it up! Absolutely outstanding.

Got to say, they - were - brilliant. First class job.

Excellent work on this! Ever considered giving Blake's 7 this kind of treatment? It would be good to see it looking as great as this! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Nice job on the regen!
Good story . Definitely a keeper. See what I did th-ok I'm going.
Yeah that's what it l-looked like when I became Keeper.
Two years ago I had two neurons randomly touch each other when I was looking at Robin playing Luvic, so I now want to do luvic edits 😮😊
Very good - well done!

A new body and a new set of teeth "at laaashht!", which is nice. 😁

"Melkur. Melkur? Melkur." They were milking the Melkur a bit there.
I've never seen The Keeper of Traken.
