Placido Domingo has an unparalleled career and has made tremendous contribution to the world of opera and to culture. He has also helped the careers of countless singers. Salute to the great Maestro Placido Domingo.

Glorious! Wonderful! An intelligent interview about both the magnitude of Placido Domingo' s career and also the importance of Art- in anyone's life.
    Inspiring!

Thank you so much for the upload! I am out of words to express my admiration for this extraordinary man. I have been in awe of his voice (and everything else that goes with it) since I was a little girl. That was 50 years ago. May his good health and voice last forever.

I agree! When I hear Pavarotti, I am impressed. When I hear Domingo, I am in love.

Sacha, great upload. Domingo is the GOAT. Maestro is ever the charming and charismatic soul. Amanpour did a nice job, though I was wary at first because some interviewers can be real jerks and take advantage of his inherent kindness and equanimity. So this was done last year sometime? I haven't bought cable tv for many years. As we all know a true retrospective of this great artist's epic career would take a lot longer than 15 minutes, esp if we include the contributions made by all the singers discovered through his Operalia. Hasta, paz.

UppityG Livestockian , Thanks Alejandro! Your right , the interviewers can be annoying some times and rather talk about uninteresting things.
Indeed this interview is from 2019 just before unfortunately the “ Patricia Wulf “problem. Agree 15 minutes is not enough for this Titan !
      Hasta pronto !

@@Sacha_Kudli 👍 (I assumed as much, because Amanpour would've for sure been in jerk mode trying to scalp him on the air. That mental case, Patricia Wulf, is the wholesale invention of her attorney, Debra "The Asterisk" Katz, a feminist zealot who just so happens to also work for the extortion scheme MeToo.)

@@Sacha_Kudli Because of this disgusting attack against him, I've learned a lot about how many innocent men have been falsely accused by the MeToo and TimesUp witch hunts.

He is scheduled to sing in a concert at Salle Gaveau, Paris, on Thursday April 4, 2024.• 7:30 PM. He will be 84 years old. Most Italian opera singers want to retire from the stage "in bellezza," in full beauty of the voice. Domingo should have retired long ago.

Hello there! Yes exactly ! You are well informed, i live in Paris and i'm going to see him !
Well you know in my opinion as long as people pay to see him why should he stop ?
Although is voice has no longer the power and the clarity that it had before, he is still one the most legendary singers of all time and seeing him on stage is a chance of a lifetime for operalovers

Well, he is not Italian, so there is that. He should have retired, but for other reasons, of a more salacious nature. Great disappointment at the human level. At the artistic level, he is still the greatest.
