Would be so amazing if some 2017 video opened up with this, then fucked up blinds starts talking shit and rob head butts them and the window shatters and the bitch taking pictures of his cat gets shards of glass in her eyeballs and then all the blood squirts all over the camera and then it transitions into the next episode
Television used to be good. It's not just your nostalgia. When I was younger I used to watch AWESOME shows, meanwhile, now kids these days watch such bullshit that is shoved down their throat and they think it's good. What they watch isn't good. This is the good stuff: -Toonami -Dragonball Z -Legends of the Hidden Temple -Guts -Double Dare -Ren and Stimpy -Rocko's Modern Life -All That -Mad TV -Tales from the Crypt -Beavis and Butthead Those shows were the shit.
I agree, Rob. I don't watch TV anymore cause most of it is pretty shitty. I mean, I used to love watching Lizard-Lick Towing and Tanked on Animal Planet, but every now and then my younger siblings come over and watch TV. Let me tell you. My brother LOVES Treehouse Masters like nobody's business.
I think most things are getting worse. Even video games for the most part bore the hell out of me these days. I bought a TV 9 months ago and have only used it as a monitor for my desktop, my blu ray player and consoles. A few years ago I would watch maybe 4 hours a week of shows, these days I watch 20 minutes at best and that's only because my family left the tv on in the family room. I heard people talking about TV shows and I thought "Wow, people still watch TV?"
Here in the UK, we have to pay something called a TV Licence every week, because the BBC doesn't have advertising. So even if you don't watch TV, you still have to pay the licence, or get thrown in jail.
personally, I don't really watch much TV anymore, there are some shows I do like to watch on TV, but for the most part the only thing I use my TV for is just playing video games and watch all my DVDs, lately I've been watching my One Piece DVDs, that's such an awesome show.
thanks to the internet we're no longer forced to watch a show geared towards a specific timeline. if i wanted to watch old school cartoon network i could marathon it if i wanted to.
Only thing i ever find worth watching is a "hour long" series. What I'm basically talking about are those shows like the Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Spartacus, Boardwalk Empire, Dexter, Breaking Bad (45min~) and 2005-2007's Rome and mini series's like Band of Brothers, The Pacific and John Adams. These shows often have a feel, script and production values of a good movie. Tackling subjects and stories beyond a simple cop drama, sitcom, reality shows and ect, we see making up like 70% of tv.
As far as TV goes, I only really watch Breaking Bad and It's Always Sunny in Philly. I'm pretty excited for the renewal of Arrested Development. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.
Death can be symbolic, as in something that has ended it's purpose, like TV, whose purpose is truly dead. The only reason to own a TV nowadays is to play console video games, watch DVD or Blue Rays, or hook up your PC to your TV to have a bigger screen.
Truly a classic of Rob's. Fast forward to 2024. Look at TV now. The lack of creativity nowadays is even more stark. Now I got Roku, TH-cam and a few streaming services, that's it. Screw TV otherwise.
It actually only recently got worse for me. From 2005-2010, there were somewhat decent shows on. 2011 onwards...not so much. I have been sticking to finding only shows I wanted online, sometimes buying on iTunes, because the creators do deserve some cents like Batman The Animated Series or a quality movie to rent. "Regular TV" will die eventually in favour of On-Demand TV services because no one wants fixed programming full of crap anymore. My bros man, they watch football too often. Hate it!
Optimum representative: "We have the triple pack it's only 79.99. Me: "I only asked for internet." Optimum representative: "Well for 79.99 you get TV, telephone, and internet." Me: "I hate TV and I own a cell phone."
I haven't really watched tv in years and after so long I can't understand how people sit through the ads. They play these fucking ads, over and over again trying to train people like dogs to go out and buy their bullshit.
I agree with silent rob on the most part but only good shows on TV is: rick and morty the venture bros dragon ball super that's basically it everything sucks.
that intro was full of win. best thing on tv is sports and educational shows. Other than that it would have to be television series like The Walking Dead, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Weeds, ect. & anime i just download the japanese ones with subs.
I'm telling you straight up. I saw this video when it was originaly posted and, in case you haven't watched tv ever since, it's still not worth watching now XD
The reality in life is, it is hardly worth living for a lot of the time. ._. I could picture a show about people just killing themselves over depression. That'd be fucked up as hell.
Lizard Lick Towing! haha, I'm so glad you brought that up! I actually saw that maybe only 2 weeks ago, and it was nothing more than one huge facepalm. What about shows like Law & Order SVU? You like those?
I barely watch TV anymore these days, I'd rather sleep, play games or jam to tunes. I don't even watch films... As I can't sit there for 2+ hours watching something. lol that's just me though.
maybe it so is reality. maybe he chainsawed down the door because, in his car, was his copy of skyrim for the ps3. maybe he didn't want to spread the glitches to the world, so he did what he had to to get into the building. lol
Ooooh! (Sings) The ol' gray tube just ain't what it used to be Ain't what it used to be Ain't what it used to be... (Stop singing) Of course, there are the FEW shows on that catches my eye but my point stands.
You are so right, so much shit on TV these days.. Why not make a video of your view on TV when you were growing up e.g your favourite shows etc, would be a good thing to talk about!
Dude, people like you are my TV at this point, since regular TV isn't even worth it anymore. SMDH
Don't need TV anymore when you can watch something online.
LEGENDARY opening
I watch this so many times, his 8bit gangnam style is incredible too
Would be so amazing if some 2017 video opened up with this, then fucked up blinds starts talking shit and rob head butts them and the window shatters and the bitch taking pictures of his cat gets shards of glass in her eyeballs and then all the blood squirts all over the camera and then it transitions into the next episode
Man I love that Intro 😤👌💯
Damn I love the intro! I get up and dance around to it
regular show, walking dead, and breaking bad, are some great stuff that is very new imo
COPS is the only reality show.
I think the saddest part to me is seeing what Discovery and History Channel have come to.
the song at the beginning was AWESOME :D
you're awesome rob
We are waiting for you, CigaretteButtCock.
When Rob is a better singer than most of people on American Idol.
Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Dexter, South Park, Weeds, Chappelles Show. Come on Rob!
Television used to be good. It's not just your nostalgia.

You remind me of the sherminater from American pie sorry if I spelled it wrong lol your still awsome
LOVE that intro!!

No, TV didn't suck back when you were a kid Rob. The 80s and 90s definately had better shows than today.
Here in the UK, we have to pay something called a TV Licence every week, because the BBC doesn't have advertising. So even if you don't watch TV, you still have to pay the licence, or get thrown in jail.
Rob!! this rant is relevant now and it was then!
1:03 is great with that hat spin
this opening is legendary

That intro was fire!!

The 90s were the golden era for kid's shows.
Truly a classic of Rob's. Fast forward to 2024. Look at TV now. The lack of creativity nowadays is even more stark. Now I got Roku, TH-cam and a few streaming services, that's it. Screw TV otherwise.
THAT INTRO IS ICONIC
It actually only recently got worse for me. From 2005-2010, there were somewhat decent shows on. 2011 onwards...not so much. Some shows are good, but yeah most aren't.
Television was worth watching when Reboot was on.
90's Cartoon Network FTW
damn rob you're releasing vids so much now my balls can't handle them
The fact that My Little Pony is considered one of the best shows people are watching makes me realize that TV has truly died.
I love the intro
Great rant. The only thing I even watch on TV now is Dexter. And some stuff on Adult Swim occasionally.
silent rob's videos are art.
@CarmineGotSnip3d yea I know, gonna use a shorter version in my next one.
Optimum representative: "We have the triple pack it's only 79.99.

Amazing Don Knots impersonation XD
I agree with silent rob on the most part but only good shows on TV is:
rick and morty
the venture bros
dragon ball super
that's basically it everything sucks.
I stand by my statement. No show that is popular and considered the best show on TV should have the words "little" and "pony" on the title.
know some friends that actually visited the locations of "pawn stars" in Las Vegas, theres nothing there rofl
You should actually go on Americas got talent with that singing! :D
Actually Rob, your version of "I Will Always Love You" was better than about 90% of the "worst singers" montages on Idol.
that intro was full of win. best thing on tv is sports and educational shows. Other than that it would have to be television series like The Walking Dead, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Weeds, ect. & anime i just download the japanese ones with subs.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The newer seasons aren't as great, but overall it's a damn good show, and I command you to watch it.
With videos like this, who needs tv?
GO PAY YOUR GD BILLS AND PAY YOUR SHIT
Best life advice ever lol
Facts bro
Reruns of 70s sitcoms, shows on AMC, HBO, and Showtime, and... That's pretty much it. lol
That intro was perfect!
I'm telling you straight up. I saw this video when it was originaly posted and, in case you haven't watched tv ever since, it's still not worth watching now XD
@ContraCommando lol the fact that x-files has been cancelled for over ten years just proves my point, but I love x-files too lol
Ever since House MD ended, I've been feeling the same way. :'(
I remember a time when TV actually was worth watching.
"if you disagree? you are wrong" hahaha
I don't watch much TV anymore. I occasionally watch news channels, but that's about it.
Beavis & Butthead.
When that went away, my interest in TV excused itself and left the fucking room.
lol, I love this new intro bro
Anyone remember toonami? Good times.
@LarryBundyJr It's Guru Larry! I loved you're Apaches video, hilarious stuff. You're good friends with Ashens, am I correct?
Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, Being Human, Criminal Minds.
That's it for me.
Breaking Bad
6:11 is when i seriously starting poopin my diaper with laughter
@ConsoleCleric holy fuck, dude. i remember going to the show's website and chilling at the site's intro music. lol. that show kicked ass
LOL thought someone hacked my account, then realized you have the same profile Icon xD.
The new song isn't from the artist that did AVGN right? sounds like him.
The reality in life is, it is hardly worth living for a lot of the time. ._.
I could picture a show about people just killing themselves over depression. That'd be fucked up as hell.
I gave up on TV AGES ago.
A few still-running shows that are good are Big Bang Theory, Louie, and Breaking Bad.
@QLVAT Its still good to do your own research outside of those shows.
Rob, what's your opinion on Jersey Shore? (I never watched it, btw.)
I was hoping you would rip on all the CSI clones that are on every station and last for 10 seasons.
The only shows I watch are ones with fixed story arcs. All sitcoms, reality tv, and talent shows aren't even worth watching
Lizard Lick Towing! haha, I'm so glad you brought that up! I actually saw that maybe only 2 weeks ago, and it was nothing more than one huge facepalm.
What about shows like Law & Order SVU? You like those?
Rob, the first four seasons of Dexter is awesome. Also, breaking bad is a fucking masterpiece.
Breaking Bad, Dexter, and Walking Dead are all good shows.
Even the fucking food network is all reality TV now.
There's no entry of it in Wikipedia.
I barely watch TV anymore these days, I'd rather sleep, play games or jam to tunes. I don't even watch films... As I can't sit there for 2+ hours watching something. lol that's just me though.
what's the song at the beginning called?
Im surprised he didn't mention Jersey Shores.
Why watch tv just watch Netflix and Hulu and buy DVDs or watch it in theatres
maybe it so is reality. maybe he chainsawed down the door because, in his car, was his copy of skyrim for the ps3. maybe he didn't want to spread the glitches to the world, so he did what he had to to get into the building. lol
Ooooh! (Sings) The ol' gray tube just ain't what it used to be
Ain't what it used to be
Ain't what it used to be...
(Stop singing) Of course, there are the FEW shows on that catches my eye but my point stands.
You are so right, so much shit on TV these days..
Why not make a video of your view on TV when you were growing up e.g your favourite shows etc, would be a good thing to talk about!
Don Knotts is my man..
TV was the best, back in the 90s.
The Regular Show and Adventure Time are pretty good shows. Totally agree about reality tv though.
Internet only since 08.
Walking Dead, Supernatural, Face off, Being human, and many more. Oh and on Friday TUF!!!!
yo look like niko from gta 4 in that thumbnail anybody else thinking the same thing?
This guy sounds like Stephen Quire
I loved the sitcoms as a kid, at least they were different and also toed the politically correct line in ways.
that intro was awesome
Wow people are realizing this, same thing is happening in everything games, anime, music whatever. Its not just nostalgia imo.
greatest intro i have ever seen
