Nice mics prefer the Shure Beta 58 for vocals when I do live sound. BUT!!! Jack my man you sing like a god!!! Seriously impressed man🤙

I used a Shure Beta 58 for years, and I still love them; however, I recently upgraded to a Neumann KMS-105. (Condenser mic) Wow, what a difference in clarity.

When I mix live, I always find sm58s too dark. I really like SE Electronics V7.

I’d love to see the volume pushed to for feedback on each mic and see which on has most gain before feedback . Thanks

I think all 3 did sound better than the SM58 (not saying it doesn't sound good...). The Austrian Audio had some clarity in the upper mids, but the Sennheiser and the Audix had some nice added warmth.
At one minute, twenty-nine seconds - y'all are killing me! 🤣🤣🤣

I have the SM7B, and it's my favorite microphone so far. :)

The Audix range are designed to be driven. I have an Audix OM5, which is more on the level of the SM58 (non Beta) and I have set up my vocal through a live PA for my vocals with both (SM58 and OM5) and they need different settings. You can just swap 1 mic for another with the same gain and eq and compare the sound. You need to push them to see which on handles the environment better.

Amazing vox Jack, agree the Austrian Audio was better here, the SE V7 would prob be a good choice for your voice or the Sennheiser 935/945, think you would sound great on anything though really bro. Big love to the team.

Wow, I’ll need to rewatch again with my headphones, I’m inclined to the 58, but then Senn is usually a close second, but maybe not any longer…

Check out the beta-58 at some point. Yes- the SM-58 is great value. 🎤

Why not put a speaker playing some full frequency music with drums, bass and of course vocals etc (to show transient response) allowing all the mics to be fully exposed and compared to the same full sound source. I know they’re vocal mics, but they’re used on everything else too. Playing a full track into them will expose differences much better than singing.

I thought the Sennheiser sounded best on your voice I prefer the OM5 compared to the Audix OM7 but the Audix VX10 is the best I have had.....

I, not a fan of the SM58s.... Designed in a time when loud and rugged was the order of the day. too muddy in the low mids and not enough shimmer in the top for me - and with wrong voice the mids are far too pushed. The Beta's are better but still not great - and on female vocals, (and male ones too if they deep and full) the Beta 57 outdoes the 58 as well........ Personally Im preferring Beyers at the moment though.... Lots of space and clarity. Of those the Senny had the most air but the OM7 actually sounded the most neutral on the clip - but thats not on the room... normally a much bigger difference there than on a recording. Always subjective though.

Singers should always have their own mic not only because it sounds good for their voice, but for hygiene. Think about all the places that mic your lips are bumping into have been. Also singers a microphone is not an ice cream cone so don't hold it like one. So many singer hold a mic like a ice cone and are singing over the capsule instead of into it. Next we know you think you have the greatest face ever, but if you keep holding your mic low people might see you, but what they hear is going to be weak. Last if using a wireless mic don't cover the antenna with your hand. That extra bit on the end of the mic isn't for your hand its the antenna and if you put your hand on it you're probably going to be cutting in and out.
Old musician joke.... What's the first thing a singer does in the morning???? Puts their clothes on and goes home.
