- Dave just had a new distributor installed, and I just got a couple of camera mounts, so sit back and enjoy some amazing new views. This is an all fabric-covered 1935 Custom-Cabin YOC Waco Biplane and it's one of my favorite airplanes. On this flight in our hometown of St. Augustine, we flew low and slow over the marsh and did some one-wheelers on KSGJ's 8000 foot runway.

What power plant does it use and did Waco ever build a cabin series using the R-985 like a Stagger wing or Howard DGA
Jacobs R755 Radial. And no I don’t believe the R-985 was used but Continentals were used. And the Lycoming R-680.

Would love to fly in one of these. I have my Commercial pilot's license & instrument rating, been looking to make friends with other pilots who would like to split the expenses of a couple hour flight every now & then
I got lucky. I am not rich and not from a family of pilots. Just counting my blessings as Bing Crosby would say.
@@BradySkye Ah ok. My family is poor, no pilots at all. I took out student loans to go to flight school & the 1500hr law passed while I was in school. Still finished, but haven't been able build the time yet.
@@FinalFront Gotcha. Yeah the best way to build that time is to be a flight instructor. That’s what most people do if they don’t come from royalty. That’s what I would do too.
@@BradySkye Yeah I know instructing is how most do it now. I didn't take out a big enough loan to cover CFI, CFII, and MEI since it wasn't necessary at that time or else that's what I would've done. So I'm stuck trying to find other ways of building time. Though at the rate I'm going I won't reach 1500 before I'm too old to fly for the airlines. While I was in school I lived in my truck during summer in Florida & worked minimum wage jobs to pay living expenses, but all that hard work was obliterated in the end.
I had one friend who owned a C182, but he was killed in a crash at Skydive Hawaii in 2019.

Lookin good Dave. I tried mounting a GoPro in a few places around my Waco but I'm I haven't figured out the editing part yet.
The editing is 90% of it lol. Just keep learning and having fun with it!
