I'm a 10 year active dude in the army, but man I feel you on a lot of the shit you talk about in your videos. I've been so salty over the years and I'm just now starting to see the shit you saying. Props on the good mindset
When I was in Infantry Training School back in '84, a reservist told me that there are two types of Marines. Those that went reserves and those that wish they went reserves. Stuck in my mind for 4 years.
I'm not going to lie, part of me wishes I went active duty, but on the same time, I have an opportunity to complete school full time in 4 years and earn that butter bar.
Thank you Young oorah for sharing your story with the Marine reserves as for me I agree with you both the military and civilian life both have toxic leaders hard times and etc. Plus pride doesn't pay the bills and always keep a open educated mind about life
I feel like reserves will be the best for me since I want to be a Marine but don't want to deal with the BS of active duty that my friends tell me about, also I can pick my MOS in the reserves as opposed to just the field
I’m thinking about joining the National Guard. I’m 24 years old and I go to college. I have a small business going on working as a landscaper and I like what I do. This is the career I want. I’m studying business and horticulture in college but I want to join the National Guard because I have this feeling in me to serve. I can’t do active duty but something in me really wants to join the military. I have no girlfriend, no kids. So far I am not happy with where I am in life but I know I could do better. I feel as though I have wasted my youth. I should’ve joined the marines at 18 and done my 4 years. But I didn’t. Can’t do anything about that. No point in crying about it. I know I can be a real success but insecurities, weaknesses, and lack of confidence have been holding me back. I believe that if I join the military it will give me the strength and confidence to push myself out of this stump I am in. I want to do something different from my safe and mundane lifestyle. That is why I want to join. But I don’t know if this will be the right choice for me, yet I can’t help to feel that this is what I want to do. If I do join I want to be infantry. I want to fight. I want to be strong and I want to have the strength and confidence to be a leader. I don’t know if this is the right choice but I really do feel this is what I need. I’m thinking about signing up for 2020 maybe during the summer or winter depending on what happens during my schooling. But I will promise to myself that if nothing major happens in my life, I will join before I turn 26
Honestly if I were in your situation I’d do it just so I don’t regret it later on. You’re following what you actually wan and you seem educated enough to know what you’re doing.
Thank you for this. It took me so long to make my decision, ur video helped me confirm my path. I’ve decided to go reserves instead of dropping out of college and hopefully make it into MOS to become an officer in the Marine Corps 🤝
I agree totally with “Pride does not pay the bills” im a grunt but in the Army National Guard side, and i honestly have to say its a pretty bitchin’ gig i got going on. There are MANY Reserve/Guard paths to go down WHILE working in a civie job, youre practically double dipping. Drill pay is practically my video game/fun money 😜 lmao do what you feel is best for your life and your comfort of living. In the end were all human, and we all have brains that get fatigued and pride can only go so far.
About a year late, but thanks for uploading your content on the reserves. I want to serve but at the same time I want to finish college. Currently taking in as much information as I can before I start weighing my options for which branch is the best fit for me.
I have always wanted to be a grunt but until I ship out to Basic I'm learning as much I can from Reservists and Active Duty alike. All of it is helpful because both go through different situations, which means more information is given.
Don't be a grunt. There's no war going on. If anything you'll be a skilled rifleman, which is cool, but for God's sake pick a job that you can get QUALIFICATIONS for if and when you get out.
My Marine recruiter suggested I go reserves and he said I have a higher chance of getting in because of the multiple misdemeanor charges I have in Virginia. I do want to finish college while in reserves so reserves is a good start for me to finish my education!
Gonna have to go through marine boot if you’re swithin branches. I’d recommend just going army reserve for the last year, especially since 3+ months of your last year would be you in boot anyway
I’m 3 years of army active and thinking about going reserves in the marine corps even if I have to go through there boot camp but that’s fine because it’s all Discipline and learning experience
Sinister Hits depends on ur mos, they do their best to station u closer. Once u fulfill ur obligated 6 year reserve, u can do whatever u want; lat move, get stationed somwhere in a diff state nd get re imbursed.

Damn you American have it easy. You have food and bathrooms, I'm jealous. No, but seriously, you're right, people should make their own decisions about what they want to do in life and not be pressured to do something they don't want to or can't do.
@youngoorah @young oorah Just curious.. when reservists deploy, are they deployed in tact with their reservists units (company, battalion, etc.) .. or do they just grab individuals (and not the the whole reservist unit) and augment them to regular force units?
I'm about to finish college a year early with a bachelor's to enlist (no, I don't want to go the officer route). But I'm torn between reserves and active duty because I'll be 21 or 22 going and there's definitely other things I wanna do with my life but I want the adventure and to be able to deploy and idk that I ever would with reserves, or feel as involved as I want to. (Thinking intel, parachutist, or infantry... maybe).
