  • Halberstadt is a town in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, the capital of Harz district. Located north of the Harz mountain range, it is known for its old town centre that was severely damaged in World War II and rebuilt in the following decades.

Thank you so much for watching my video. The city was very heavy bombed in the WW2 and a big part of its beautiful old architecture was lost and never reconstructed. Have a great day!

@@Adriantravellingtheworld Yeah here is the battle :D
The Battle of Halberstadt took place on 29 and 30 July 1809 at Halberstadt in the Kingdom of Westphalia, during the War of the Fifth Coalition. A Westphalian infantry force attempted to halt the Black Brunswickers under Frederick William, Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel who were heading for North Sea coast. However, the Brunswickers surprised the Westphalians by a rapid advance and defeated them inside the town.

The city is very beautiful and has a very rich history. I had the impression is a bit empty, no more people on the streets and it wasn't on sunday. I loved the old romanesque church! Thanks for watching my video!

This is where the german rebel corps, Black Brunswickers fought against a Westphalian army regiment of the Kingdom of Westphalia, a satellite state put by Napoleon. The Black Brunswickers regained their territory, defeating Royal Westphalian Troops totally, taking less casualties and toke many prisioners, Forgotten German heros which gave their lives bravely for their fatherland.
