Or when I want to move off, I have to check if they are too inpatient and started taking over already. Same when you check the mirrors on your left at exiting, you took a quick glance, see a car on your left sort of behind you, but you just can't register it means he or she is in that lane you want to move into, so you have to wait. I get the crossings but if I see a car still moving I won't just walk out into the road haha 😂 it's the crossers right of way but like when I'm the driver with the right of way I don't just go because people make mistakes :)
During lessons and in a driving test the driver has to be prepared to stop if pedestrians are waiting at a crossing. Failure to be aware and prepare to slow down/ stop can be a test failure. This is in the Hazard Perception part of the Theory test that learners have to pass before they can book a practical test. Unfortunately, the driver must see the pedestrian as priority as they are the most vulnerable ones who could be the victim of a fatality if the driver hits them. People will step out and walk about like zombies and drivers need to be aware of this. I get it on a daily basis, people stepping out infront of me whilst staring down at their phones. Alot of people EXPECT everyone to stop for them, it's very dangerous for pedestrians to have this mindset and I think The Green Cross Code should be taught in schools again and perhaps advertised on TV for adults as they seem to have forgotten how to safely cross roads etc.
@@lulu1111 I'm sure Dean gets this, but all too often I can be waiting at a crossing and cars just don't stop, so it's always best to not go unless they're either miles away, or you know they've stopped.
scunnygal it’s true. Pedestrians need to be more hazard aware but usually they’re in their own world and not thinking About how the actions affect the surroundings. In this video though the crossing had marked white lines which means that if someone is waiting to cross, the car must stop.
Had my driving test a couple hours ago and I passed with 1 minor. I didn't watch these videos recently but I did used to watch them before lockdown and some of the things you taught did stick with me. Thanks
I got pulled up on the observation and signal fault from the emergency stop on my last driving test because the examiner asked me to reverse park behind a car but then changed his mind at the last minute and asked me to move on and I didn’t check behind or signal. What really annoyed me was that when he then refused to explain what my mistake was at the end of the test and just gave me a vague description, so, until I thought through what had happened, I was under the impression that I’d pulled out in front of another car AFTER parking, which confused the hell out of me because a) I’d made a point of waiting longer than necessary at each stop to make absolutely sure nothing was coming, and b) my instructor had told me that I shouldn’t signal right before moving off from the side of the road and should just make sure that nothing’s coming. I hope that I get better feedback the next time I get to take a test.
A good habit to remember which roundabout exit you’re taking is to keep repeating it in your head, but make sure you’re also still aware of your surroundings
Aloha Pin! A big thanks for all your videos. I just passed my driving test 2 days ago🙏☺️ All your vid was my inspiration to be responsible new driver at all time👏
20:24 couldn’t signalling be seen as him taking the next right tho? Couldn’t that also count as confusing the van behind? Pretty confused on how to indicate here considering he’s not exactly parked up on the left.
Exactly what I thought, a right signal could almost be interpreted as the start of a a u turn if no junction on the right. That would confuse the hell out of me.
Yeah, I wouldn't think that examiners would pick up on this, especially as after the emergency stop you are in the "normal driving" position, it's not like when you've parked and you have to indicate. Feel like it is just up to whether or not you have a picky examiner, obviously Pin is just trying to highlight every thing to help him out so he doesn't make them if his real examiner is a tosspot
But if he were wanting to take a right hand turn, he would be positioned more towards the middle of the road, rather than at the normal driving position. Either way, if the van were aware the car in front was due to move, they would know not to overtake as it was known that the car would be moving, whether straight on or turning right.
Important to note that due to the current conditions, if you make a serious driving fault, the examiner WILL redirect you back to the test centre and inform you that you have failed. This is to minimize unnecessary time together in the car.
I nearly got runned over a few times in Birmingham on Bath row zebra crossing where Tesco's and Midland Heart housing association is b4 they put traffic light there. Because ppl are just too eager to pass the zebra crossing and there are otber junction roads as well Granville Street. Bath row is a busy road i do t know why some drivers dont think pedestrians have priority especially when crossing that road. Thats why they put traffic light there now im guessing, but even then ppl love to chance the change of lights to beat which is carelessness.
@@ManiPlaysYT As I'm driving, I always stop for pedestrians, regardless it's in the parking lot or on the road(either major ones or the neighbourhood ones)

Mo Man no you don’t, if you stall and don’t know how to start again you do but if you stall and can restart it you don’t even get a minor since even experienced drivers stall
Mo Man hahahaha no dw it’s just something a lot of people believe that isn’t true - only time you’d get a major when stalling is when you’re on a busy junction and don’t know how to quickly redeem it so make it unsafe
Vinny saw did quite well, asides from that serious fault on one roundabout those other roundabout's were done brilliant as it is tricky for learners. Also mostly everything he did was good and seems ready for a test. What I liked best was how he was aware of all is faults this is good👍. Good luck for Vinny on test Pin Binning 😉
8:00 he doesn’t have to signal, he’s in the left lane and he can only take the exit to the left. Not a serious driving fault but in fact just a wrong turn.
road paintings indicate straight on and left, so should have indicated. However don't see it being a major as he isn't cutting up any cars or causing any issues. RAC/AA both put it down if you are turning left at first exit for a roundabout to always signal left regardless of markings, but they both seem to give only minors for this not a major
Why did pin have to slam the brakes when the pedestrians were there? They weren’t walking across they were waiting so he could have just let him drive and give him the fault
i mean by the time the pedestrians came into view they had only just walked up to the crossing (its not like they were standing there before he got there) and at his speed it would have been safer to carry on instead of harshly breaking seen as tho the girls were waiting anyway. If another car had been behind him, breaking like that could have caused an accident. he should have noticed the crossing and slowed down as his view was restriced but he didnt, instead of harshly breaking pin should have told him that was dangerous instead of making the situation even more dangerous
That what happened on my test this week lady was walking up to the crossing yet and examiner slammed on the brakes and failed me right at the end of the test too
That's insane I remember when I took my driving test the instructor told me turn left and go until I tell you to stop I ran over 3 people took 2 stop signs did a 180 going about 65 in a 25 I didnt even have to check my mirrors because they where missing. The instructor yelled at me though because I didnt have both hands on the wheel... all jokes aside my driving test was driving 2 blocks and back I think it took 3 minutes total..... they dont care most of the time the people at the dmv only wanna work their 8 hours and leave.......
You're not legally required to stop for pedestrians waiting at a zebra crossing, however it is good courtesy to do so. The driver was at serious fault because he was unaware of the pedestrians and wasn't prepared to stop at all if they crossed, hence he could've hit them if they started crossing
I failed my test today with 1 major and 1 minor I’ve had 50 hours of lessons, Someone came off the roundabout and onto my road really fast so I got a major for junction observations, but this was my first test hopefully next time I’ll be more alert
I've had more than 50 hours now. Failed my test beginning of March- since I've had a four month break just got back into it. Waiting for a new date for my test. My driving instructor says I can do it but I need to manage my nerves better on the test.
Kirsty Walker yeah i hate the nerves on test day i couldn’t sleep the day before the test, my instructor was shocked when i told him i failed. The only annoying thing is that with corona its gonna be ages before we can get tests but what can we do

7:59 I had to watch that a few times as I know that area well and it's a shame because he didn't realise he was in the correct lane to go straight there and must have assumed he had to go left.
Hugh Raynor the bit not on the road counts as the crossing, I mean it common sense to stop when someone is already on the crossing lmao, what the alternative? Running through them
When i read the highway code it sounds to me that although a dick move, u don't have to stop to let pedestrians cross unless they are already on the crossing. Legit game of chicken.
nahh you are exactly right, you aren't required to stop at all until they stop onto that road so you could keep on going, issue is that most non-motorists believe we are required to stop so will step out, so they tell you in the highway code to slow down and get ready to stop. Also for whatever reason failing to stop when you see people at a crossing while taking a test is a failure regardless of the highway code
From the dash cam, a lot of other drivers (probably with full license) on the road didn't signal or change lane properly at all. Vinny actually did a much better job than those guys!
The thing with pedestrians sometimes is they don’t make it clear to drivers what they are going to do. Most times they expect the drivers to know but we can’t read your mind. Communication between drivers and pedestrians is still important. Many times I’ve stopped for pedestrians and they wave me in to go but I’m left thinking then why you just standing there at the crossing and not crossing it confuses me. And in this video they were kinda standing far back behind that bush I didn’t really se them until last second and if you are concentrating on driving they be easy to miss.
Overall, Vinny was a great driver and it was great to watch! Some of the serious faults are most unfortunate but at least, he can learn from them. Good luck for when your test comes! Still waiting for my driving lessons to resume in Glasgow but I've been out practicing with my husband - who is a full UK licence holder.
While I appreciate Vinny should've stopped for the pedestrians (18:00), I think the British roads are sort of set up against proper safe driving. Sure, there are two signs warning you there is a pedestrian crossing place, but the markings are half gone and the sidewalk on the left is hidden by the bushes.
Pedestrians had priority on the crossing, vehicles should always stop for them, some pedestrians always assume vehicles will stop that why the instructor had to step in.
They turned towards the crossing so it is law to give way to them. If the learner would have seen them earlier he could have eased off and slowed down more thoughtfully.

Lu Lu respectfully, no one, and I mean NO ONE, read this 🥱🤦🏿♂️
Fiifi Egyiri ok ‘fifi’ go and be bored elsewhere. And I would consider taking another profession as comedy isn’t your thing.
scunnygal it’s true.
Thanks
Vinny, the King of Roundabouts!
I passed 6 months ago. Still watching theses videos, just because you pass doesn’t mean you suddenly become a faultless driver!
I swear i could go crazy with those round abouts
I think roundabouts r the easiest to deal with bc if u miss an exit, u can go around and around lmao
thank goodness i don't have to deal with these a lot in my country

Beautiful lil birdie. I hope he's ok.
Passed my test today, your videos helped a lot to keep me reminded on what to do, 0 minors !
Keep the vids coming ❤️ passed in January still love watching these though.
Love seeing your videos Pin. Hopefully driving tests will resume in Northern Ireland soon! Test ready since March 🚗🚗
A good habit to remember which roundabout exit you’re taking is to keep repeating it in your head, but make sure you’re also still aware of your surroundings
if pin ever takes off his hat, we all die
Aloha Pin!
A big thanks for all your videos. I just passed my driving test 2 days ago🙏☺️
All your vid was my inspiration to be responsible new driver at all time👏
20:24 couldn’t signalling be seen as him taking the next right tho?
Passed my driving test first time yesterday and these videos were so so helpful!
Important to note that due to the current conditions, if you make a serious driving fault, the examiner WILL redirect you back to the test centre and inform you that you have failed. This is to minimize unnecessary time together in the car.
Greeeeaaaattt
Imagine if you make a major driving fault right at the start “ ok turn around and go back into the test centre car park please” 😂😂😂
Well I passed anyway so it's fine 😂
Unnecessary time? Every second of the test counts
I've been watching your videos for ages now, passed my test back in February but it's nonetheless still enjoyable to watch this.
Hope you passed Vinny! Your faults can be easily corrected. Think your driving is very good overall. Best of luck
I just passed my test today, thanks to your videos which helped me a lot.

Is it just me or are these roads so confusing, I swear here in Australia they are much more simple.

As a pedestrian at the zebra crossing, do not assume that drivers will stop for you
Welllll
Yep I agree.
Yep. Many drivers don't stop at the Zebra crossing. Even buses went through it when people were waiting to cross!!
I’ve recently started watching your videos and it’s really helpful.
STOP STOP STOP STOP STOP, this needs remixing into a tune.
I passed first try today with only two minors, your videos definitely helped:)
Love how Pin uses the Emergency Stop manoevure for the start of the video since it looks dramatic
18:00 that is me when driving 😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah I always try stopping the car even though I’m not driving
I nearly got runned over a few times in Birmingham on Bath row zebra crossing where Tesco's and Midland Heart housing association is b4 they put traffic light there. Because ppl are just too eager to pass the zebra crossing and there are otber junction roads as well Granville Street. Bath row is a busy road i do t know why some drivers dont think pedestrians have priority especially when crossing that road. Thats why they put traffic light there now im guessing, but even then ppl love to chance the change of lights to beat which is carelessness.
@@CATALATIC yeah whenever I cross roads, i only do it if the vehicle is far away or if it stops for me
That’s good, I’m usually the Range Rover lmao

passed last week but still addicted to these
17:40 the pedestrian moment that 2 lady ruin him xD
In South Africa, if you stall or roll back it's an immediate fail
Mo Man you don’t fail in UK if you stall
@Mo Man only if it's at the Traffic Lights, if you stall whilst parked somewhere safe e.g on the side of a road then its not a serious or minor fault
Mo Man no you don’t at all
Vinny saw did quite well, asides from that serious fault on one roundabout those other roundabout's were done brilliant as it is tricky for learners. Also mostly everything he did was good and seems ready for a test. What I liked best was how he was aware of all is faults this is good👍. Good luck for Vinny on test Pin Binning 😉
Hi I really enjoy your videos and they have proven to be very helpful. My question is has driving test centre allowed people to book tests now?
Well, im only 8 but my mom has been having driving lessions and she might pass the driving instructor said shes doing good.

Krypton 114 what a freak.
I'm sure he's going to be fine in his test!
Passed my test 2 days ago first time😁

Why did pin have to slam the brakes when the pedestrians were there? They weren’t walking across they were waiting so he could have just let him drive and give him the fault
Being so "dramatic" might have been his way of reinforcing the idea that pedestrians have the right of way.
What was the time ?? In the video on that part can’t find it
He wasn't "overreacting" it was simply the right thing to do which is giving the pedestrians the right of way no matter what.
i mean by the time the pedestrians came into view they had only just walked up to the crossing (its not like they were standing there before he got there) and at his speed it would have been safer to carry on instead of harshly breaking seen as tho the girls were waiting anyway. If another car had been behind him, breaking like that could have caused an accident. he should have noticed the crossing and slowed down as his view was restriced but he didnt, instead of harshly breaking pin should have told him that was dangerous instead of making the situation even more dangerous
That what happened on my test this week lady was walking up to the crossing yet and examiner slammed on the brakes and failed me right at the end of the test too
Thank to this channel i past my driving exam in belgium 5 days ago
Am I the only one who loves the sound of the steering wheel leather sliding though is hands
18:52 Kamikaze bird lol
You're not legally required to stop for pedestrians waiting at a zebra crossing, however it is good courtesy to do so. The driver was at serious fault because he was unaware of the pedestrians and wasn't prepared to stop at all if they crossed, hence he could've hit them if they started crossing
I failed my test today with 1 major and 1 minor I’ve had 50 hours of lessons, Someone came off the roundabout and onto my road really fast so I got a major for junction observations, but this was my first test hopefully next time I’ll be more alert
I already know the amount of comments coming beneath here saying they passed first time with 20 or less hours but hey 🤣🤣
The only annoying thing is that with corona its gonna be ages before we can get tests but what can we do
@@theoneandonlyhahaha5213 I passed my test in one try with 18 minor faults (0 major faults) and I still don't feel like I passed. To be honest, if I could, I would retake it because I was really stressed out because of my tester, who constantly told me to speed up in a narrow residential area (there were parked cars and I didn't want to hit anything). Don't give up. Know you're already doing better than me! I took the test in the USA if you're wondering how I passed lol
고준형 congratulations for passing nonetheless 🎉🎉 hopefully i’ll be able to sort out my driving for my next test and I appreciate the motivation - most people on youtube comment sections just rub salt in the wounds but i’m glad your not one of those people! Good luck with your driving and stay safe
7:59 I had to watch that a few times as I know that area well and it's a shame because he didn't realise he was in the correct lane to go straight there and must have assumed he had to go left.
I'm pretty sure that you legally dont have to stop at zebra crossing unless there is someone already crossing
You are correct, but the DVSA test standards differ from the Highway Code.
Pedestrians always have right of way at zebra crossings
Something Something Only once they have stepped onto the crossing, according to the Highway Code.
Hugh Raynor the bit not on the road counts as the crossing, I mean it common sense to stop when someone is already on the crossing lmao, what the alternative? Running through them
it took me forever to realize the wheel was on the right side of the car. I was wondering why it looked so weird
Do you ever must use your handbrake when you stop?
Its very interesting how diffrent the driving test in an anathor country is.
He didn’t even have to stop at the zebra crossing, if u look the two girls literally stood still so that they could go
Thats not how that works, they were actually waiting for someone who will let them pass
From the dash cam, a lot of other drivers (probably with full license) on the road didn't signal or change lane properly at all. Vinny actually did a much better job than those guys!
18:07 I feel like you only need to stop if they want to cross. That brake was really hard. He should've slowed down as soon as he saw them.

I passed over 15 years ago but love watching these :)
7:47 I love the serious fault of not using a blinker when every single car in front of him didn't even use it. The hypocrisy of it all, haha.
Why everytime stopping and use parking brake its not necessary.
thats britain😂 I dont get it either, but i am from holland
Yeah. I was also taught to put the shift into neutral while on the traffic light
watching his pretty good driving after my 3rd lesson like 😮
The pedestrians weren't about to cross the street at all, why did you stop the vehicle?
Different countries different laws, have to give way to pedestrians.
if there are people near the crossing or waiting, in the uk you have to stop
Pedestrians had priority on the crossing, vehicles should always stop for them, some pedestrians always assume vehicles will stop that why the instructor had to step in.
They turned towards the crossing so it is law to give way to them. If the learner would have seen them earlier he could have eased off and slowed down more thoughtfully.
What do you mean, you always have to stop at zebra crossings
M learning every day..what a good channel
