I grew up on Whipple & Wabansia. My mom got her Bikerdike townhouse there in 2000 (still lives there).
I didn’t know that corner used to be a bar. When I was teen it was a corner store owned by Middle Easterners and my friends and I used to go to buy loose cigarettes. LK used to post up right outside and get harassed by the cops everyday in the mid-late 2000s until almost all the LK were driven out to make way for gentrification.

I believe the corner store owner was nicknamed ‘Shady’.

Good for you, Hector! Admittedly, i thought the worst came of those kids in the video. Glad he made a life away from the nonsense.

Imperial Gangsters also shared Kimball & Cortland with the Spanish Cobras in those days. They always fought by the grammar school on St. Louis (Stowe) and Wabansia. Them against the LK's, Sawyer Boys, Spaulding Boys.

I went to Stowe in 83 & 84 and they was always rumbling out in the front. There was an empty lot right in front of the school. Them LK’s was always deep out there. I remember this one King - Lefty always walked with a cane. Don’t know why but always had a cane. Those was some crazy years. Me and my sisters had to walk to school from Harding & Wabansia folks hood Cobras & IG’s to People’s hood - LK’s. Saw a lot of shit go down

I love this because we can make it but we do need help and understanding of us , just need that chance in life and we all give it back more than anyone because we loved it and we know more pain than all.

@@Fa5ian_si I went to Columbus with (Rest In Peace Coco’s) son, Coco ended up OD’ing in 2016, he also flipped from HG to SD. His son has a kid of his own now and doing well. I grew up on Iowa St. around old school Ukrainians and Polacks so you know which route I went lol.

@@westlove1226 Damn didn’t know that about Coco, my uncle had a daughter from his sister Alex which my uncle never claimed as his own.
When I moved to Augusta and Hoyne the names I remember that rang were Red from the CNotes, lefty and shadow from the Dragons, a king from DW name Commando and some IG’s from western by the laundromat name bam bam. I was young so when I turned out from Beach and Spaulding all those names were gone and CNotes were non existence along with all the other white gangs and I believe no more IG’z on western either when the peace broke apart between them and the Cobras
