We need some safeties and a few more Offensive Guards. For basketball, we need a few 3s and a backup center.

We may need 19 guys to protect the quarterback after what's happened in recent years.
Would Frank Anselem ever come back here t0 be our 3rd center?

Don Mc person was lightly recruited and had to spell the starter in his freshman year and did ok. I don't know their freshman may surprise you but a running qb. In his freshman year could possibly work.

A note on this pod. It was recorded before Christian Veilleux committed to Georgia State on Wednesday (that's how fast things move in the portal) but the concept of the kind of quarterback Syracuse is looking for is still the same and I wanted to note that he visited. It demonstrates that Fran Brown is still hot on the trail of another solid QB to add to the room.

Thank you for the update Brent! When we think about our two backup QBs, they both originally signed with a SEC team (Davis - South Carolina, Del Rio -UF) as a highly touted HS QB, it does show that HS ranking doesn’t necessarily reflect their success. Let’s hope we can find a underclassman QB who can learn for one year and then compete for the starting job next year…

Would love to hear about how Coach Jack is doing reloading the woman's basketball team. I understand everything on the Men's side tend to move faster. Our woman need some love after the season they had.

I really love the way people who have never played football are evaluating Syracuse quarterbacks!! I truly hope Del Rio and the other quarterback find a better place to play!!

I'll say this Sammy. My opinion is based not just on my observation but on talking to those who have played and can analyze the game. That noted, this whole concept that you don't know "fill-in-the-blank_ because you didn't play it thing is a tired take. Do I have to be a chef to know a good meal? Do I have to be a musician to know a good song? Life is full of things you don't have to have experience in to observe. Now I wouldn't want someone operating on me that didn't go to medical school, but when it comes to football, I think I can watch a player and make a fairly decent observation on how good they are. Thanks.

@@brentaxemedia I think you and the many of "Syracuse reporters" do nothing but bad mouth these kids! Always pointing out the negative like a natural loser. Probably one of the worst schools for that. I see every other college team uplifting all their players. Del Rio and Davis are very good QBs I happen to know actual pros like Trent Dilfer who analyze these players and say otherwise. You may want to look at spring highlights and talk to some actual QB coaches before you bad mouth our players. Hell you just had a REAL QB coach on your show that said otherwise!!! LOL but I guess you know more... stick to eating food and listening to music MOZART

@@Sammysam-eo4uv Every other college says nothing but good things? That's ...unlikely... but I'll take your word for it there. I'm here to give an honest analysis. I think we try to be mindful of their age, Sammy, but they're also young men and women in college to prepare themselves for the big, bad real world. Being a Division I athlete, especially ones that now often get paid for what they do and the public is asked to pay to see them, opens up a certain level of scrutiny. I think they know that. I've said plenty of positive things too when it is called for. If you want a view full of nothing but rainbows and sunshine, there's plenty of outlets for that. Now, if you'll excuse me, back to my Mozart.

I don't worry about Evens jr. A few days after Christmas he did put up 25points and 10reb against Gonzaga a good team this past yr. Doesn't seem like he has a dropoff against better competition.

I don't see a backup QB coming here. Like it or not I really truly believe your not going to get a better instant backup then Carlos del Rio . Carlos has in game starting experience. He can develop. Now my suggestion is get a great juco QB , and possibly a Canadian QB . Or a European QB. Or maybe look at the d2 or d3 level maybe you can find a diamond in the rough there. But your not getting a instant playmaker QB out the portal sadly.
