Been a running joke for 3 and a bit years on this channel, and now dropping it as the final product review with a ton of jokes in the 1st of April.. it's perfect. And it's a perfect lens as well.
But no AF or zebras on the Nikon body, this is a throwback to the old MF days, not quite perfect, if this had AF would be a great low light music event lens

I remember asking on a TCSTV live video if you guys thought the RX-100 5 was a good travel camera and Chris says yes and that was the review that pushed me into buying it. It's been more than 5 years since then, I think. What a whirlwind. Sad to see DPReview die, but I hope you guys continue on exactly as you are at PetaPixel.

Such a dream lens! And not a bad price compared to the 0.95 Leica. I think this type of lens REALLY benefits from being used with a tripod. Think classic portrait or landscape work. That shallow dof will be much easier to control when the camera is fixed on a tripod.
Thank you so much for the great content over the years! I was first getting into filmmaking and photography back in 2010 / 2011 when I was 14. I would frequently go to The Camera Store to ask questions and absorb all the knowledge I could. I always loved talking to Jordan at the video counter. There was a Canon T2i with a Zeiss CP.2 prime on it out for demo and one day he showed me how to shoot video on it. I actually purchased a T2i (minus the CP.2 😅) on Jordan's recommendation! That learning and purchase turned into my lifelong interest in filmmaking and has greatly evolved into my current situation of working on image sensor design in grad school!! So thank you Jordan for taking the time to answer the endless questions of a curious 14 year old and for recommending that Canon T2i like 12 years ago 😊✨. Can't wait for the show to continue on PetaPixel! Cheers.

Nikon is playing long term game with Z mount, this lens prove they will launch lot of exotic lens. They know market is shrinking, and the only way to survive is up the lens quality and excellent IQ, and become upper class consumer camera brand. I saw some leica and MF shooter add their gear with Nikon Z. And if everything goes smooth, they can add MF sensor in the future if needed.
Why has no one picked up DPReview to continue these two giving the BEST reviews on YT. ON ANY PRODUCT. 😢 sad day. Chris please continue with what you do if less frequently just continue! I actually own one since it was first out. It comes with a specific hard plastic box, and it's just gorgeous. It's also probably one of the last Nikkor lenses made in Japan.
The comparison should have been with the classic Nikkor 58 1.2 Nocturnal. Using the new Noct at the park in the middle of the day was an interesting choice. Same as split rock.? . God forbid you take it out and do some street shooting in low light. As someone who owns a Nikkor 58 1.2 Nocturnal it would have been interesting to see how you guys where able to manual focus on the Z system. Stopping down for night shooting...? I dont even know what to say to this. As far as calling the lens impractical... Interesting thing to say for the best manual focus lens ever made. I think you guys let your lack of skill in manual focusing bias your opinion. I did enjoy all the Noct jokes. You guys have a good sense of humour. Best of luck with your new channel.

Rarely one shows really everything one would like to know.
the biggest pluses about this lens is minimal distance - 0.5 m ! no word about it ? all other lens with f/0.95 dont have such good minimal distance.
