I just seem to like their chemistry both off and on screen. I have a knack on reading people's gesture whether they attracted with each other or not, so far they gestures are the most convincing one. Seems they're pretty close, like you know when both/one of them interested in each other but they decided just to be friends just because they work in the same field and/or don't want to ruin their friendship. Just a hunch on my part I guess 💪 if they do date that's nice, if they don't I'll take their friendship as it is ☺️

I do agree that they does have strong attraction gestures signs , like staring , teasing, hard laughing, eye contact , happiness in each other presence , leaning closer ( though Shotaro is more obvious than Tao ) they do behave like a flirty couple but under the name of friends , Shotaro gave some funny hints like he said Tao is the type girl he kind of liked during his childhood days where he used to tease the girl he has crush on and she reminded him of that. He does seem attracted to her but as you said looks like he can’t make a serious move to sacrifice their friendship unless he get a sign from Tao? But girl is in denial haha and she is serious about work she stated won’t be in relationship until she get serious about marriage and someone has to be someone like a Samurai
