I know this comment is 3 years later. I know how Meg feels. I have been trying to move too Lancaster PA closer to my family for a while now. My mom will be moving with me. I just want to have that garden so bad. I also want pigs and chickens. This past Friday I was talking to my best friend on the phone. He is looking forward to us moving also because he moved out that way. I was saying to him it will be a challenge to move the freezer filled with food. He said he will move it in his cargo trailer and hook up his generater to keep the food cold. We both laughed on the phone. But he also said all kidding aside when that day comes we will have a couple of trailers for the move. I hope that day comes soon. I already picked songs to play on the radio. The first song will be Convoy.

Congratulations! Planning & planting !! How many acres on the New Hollar Homestead? I only have 5 acres, but it's plenty!
Just a hint, plant your fruit trees this fall!! Plant some dwarf trees even a couple of Mini dwarfs to get fruit quickly! The rest can be dwarf or standard whichever you want!! But sooner is better! Transplant natives whenever possible! Blackberries and other things like Elderberry. Get out to the local Extension Office to get to know the agent! They can help you!! Sometimes they have programs for people starting out. Here in TN, they have a program that helps with seeds, fruit trees and they even had someone that came out & tilled my nieces garden! Visit the local Beekeeping Club(ask at extension office)you can join later if you want! Great resource, great helpful people!

Hey, maybe that's a good idea for us too....we need to plant a few seeds or 🌱 seedlings. Then maybe, our house will sell and we can move to a homestead where there will be room to grow a huge Garden🍎. Thanks for that Lilian🌺 bit of encouragement Sugar Creek. I'll take any good tips.

Save your clear salad containers for sowing and germinate your seeds in them. I do winter sowing with clear milk jugs cut in half (duct tape them back together after soil and seeds) water them, keep the top off and set outside to germinate and be hardened off. So excited for you guys!😁😁😁
