This is the 3rd video of SM races and I believe a female has won each time. Perhaps they should be put in different divisions as often the males seem more interested in mating with the side of the tank than winning the race! lol
Yeah having brine shrimp racing is pretty ridiculous but nothing compared to the patent that transcience wanted to file for a whole baseball Game that brine shrimp would play 🤣😆🤣😆 Oh yeah Also, great editing!! Love it, the trophy reveal is really funny

In my race off's with this track, the females always win. & just like it says on the packaging if I recall, they do have a 'rudimentary' memory, meaning if u race those same sea monkeys again, they'll do it quicker cos they know the route. Put a bit of Sea Monkey banana flavour powder at the end & they'll learn quick. Don't put to small a sea monkey on this track though, no matter how much they wanna. They can get stuck & unsuckable up again through the aqualeash at the starter gate groove. Lost young Sammy the sea monkey that way. He was a little bully in the tank so thought he could maybe blow off some steam this way. He got wedged between the water catchment wall & the water catchment pool. He had real spirit though. RIP Sammy.

This is exactly the kind of thing I could see my child self playing with, singling out the best racers and breeding them to create specialized purebred RACING SHRIMP (that absolutely wouldn't perform any better in any way because I can't see selective breeding being particularly effective in brine shrimp for much given their unique life cycle). Hi John! This is great, it's fun to see all these different sea monkey accessories i never knew existed! My personal opinion about whether or not these things are 'okay' to use with living creatures, is that all pets are 'parental supervision required' and care should be taken to ensure that living creatures are comfortable and not treated as disposable. Thanks for the fun video!
Sea Medic use to be orange in colour & it's not anymore. If u added enough Sea Medic the Sea Diamonds would float to the surface, indicating the water is sufficiently oxygenated. (Sea Diamonds are a bad idea though I discovered later, during tornado/ hurricane season. Which consists of blasting the shit out of the tank with my aqua bubbler. All the flying debris etc). My colony lasted 2 years though,, just like the 1979 advertisement said they could with proper care. It got ugly in the harder days & became a bit 'Lord of the Flies' with only 1 female though. They are an amazing species of an animal .

I call Shenanigans!! that female was clearly hiding performance enhancers in that so called "egg sack". no joke tho, I was surprised the shrimp got to the finish line... most of the time what I see with racing toys that involve animals of any kind, is that the result are usually that the pets are swimming in circles or the opposite way. this was very entertaining to watch, keep up the great work!
Lol it took me a few goes to figure out how to actually make them race - some of this footage is sped up too because their “racing” is awfully slow at times 😅
I must absolutely have one of these no matter what the cost! My grandkids stare transfixed on the now 3 videos available on recorded races from these amazing Sea Monkey racetracks. They scream and cheer on their favorite racer with unbidled enthusiasm! Afterwards, they are curious as to why I don't have one! I can see it in their little eyes: Grandpa is not only old, but also possibly senile, supid, or just plain poor as a hippie to not own one of these! Perhaps you would consider doing weekly live sreaming of races? Even if you were to charge a steep admission it would still be way cheaper that actually buying one of these collectables!
I am pretty against racing or fighting animals for enjoyment. I feel more humane feeding newly hatched brine shrimp to my fish than I would feel racing them. I ABSOLUTELY loved sea monkeys as a kid and always had them. I managed to keep my very first alive a very long time... until one day, in came my mom with the Windex and wiped out my colony. I bought them for my children many years ago to encourage their interests. Now i hatch them occasionally to feed my fish. I wouldn't be able to raise them as pets and then feed them to anything or even race them. I never just saw my colony as a science project. They were my pets and personal introduction into the exploration of what would become a decades-long hobby of all aquatic life. Plants. Fish. Cephalopods. Crustaceans. Amphibians. And more, and everything under the umbrella that supports them. Far too many to name. ie nematodes Interesting video to come across though! Brought back memories for me. Thanks.
I want to go check out abandoned buildings for stuff like this (especially toy stores) but I can’t run so if I got caught I’d probably be in a lot of trouble 😅 My left leg let’s me crawl in narrow spaces a little easier but at the cost of not being able to run at all and not being able to climb or jump very safely. Everything in life is a trade off and I’m more of land kind of person so I’ll take the narrow crawl space bonus any day

Hi John! I wanted to ask something! I've seen sources that claim that sea monkeys are actually a special breed of brine shrimp that are different from shrimps bred for fish food. Is this true? Since I've also seen the company claiming that the shrimps can live for years and hatch instantly haha.
In my opinion this is just more marketing nonsense as I’ve never seen any concrete evidence to support the claim. To my eye Sea-Monkeys are indistinguishable from other brine shrimp in every way 👍
