Man! They should TOTALLY have recorded this as a b-side back then. Natalie's version is awesome, and she sings like heaven in it, but can you imagine the Pumpkins going all Adore on this song in the studio?
a proper Adore version of this song would have been a huge hit. I can literally hear it now in my head... he's always seemed to sabatoge himself with keeping "hits" from being heard, especially after the MCIS era
There is a demo from then. There were uploads on yt idk if anymore. Was part of my machina demos vid back when 2014 or something that was blocked. Anyway one of his best songs!
Those first 2 chords are just gorgeous....and contain a trick I've used often myself. You basically have a minor chord...that then descends a half-step down to a major chord. So, for example... G minor to Gb major. What's cool is....while that might otherwise be a pretty strange move(a half-step progression) it gels well because _both_ chords share the exact same note as their _third._ The minor 3rd of Gm is Bb...and the major 3rd of Gb is also Bb. So...that one note stays the same. Has a super haunting vibe...

Natalie does this song far better than these guys..the vocals have no reach compared to her haunting muse.. Seriously, the best thing Billy C. did was to let her record the song first!
This guy sucks, he can't stay on key. Natalie Imbruglia version is terrific. He may have written the song but many people were involved to get to the Natalie Imbruglia version
@@michaelrask5656 I have to agree. He's always been a weak vocalist and indeed he's going sharp and flat in this version. SP have always been hit or miss with me. Corgan so desperately wants to be seen as another angst-ridden Trent Reznor to this day, but it's never felt authentic. As for this song, while haunting, structurally it's an odd mess, which is why he's losing his own melody while singing.
with Natalie Imbruglia is simply magnifique!

I’d prefer all machina w this track
he did make a demo of it actually!! but yes I wish it would've been released

Yes sir... like "shine on you crazy diamond"
Simply outstanding 👏
Nice. It's such a beautiful song
Really a tremendous composition. Love this.
I still love Natalie's rendition better but I have to give props to the songwriter as he did as equally a haunting version.
Natalie totally owns this song's rendition
OMMMMMGGGGGGG FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't know katie played bass with them
Rediscover this and 🙏🏼 it gets a new treatment for the Machina re-issue 🤘🏼
💓
Your eyes, they send me
To eternity
Your heart may cast me down,
To hell
Again
But lately its your love,
It's condemnation enough
Identify
Please Identify
If it's me you want,
Standing by your side
Identify
These tears of mine,
Am I lonely? Or am I just alive?
And what is time, to say
Who and why the test of love,
Your hands were speaking "no"
I felt the movement go
The ice was breaking,
So
I wonder why
That I'd
Identify with you
My life
Leave me empty and see if I survive
For every questioned hour,
For every second devoured
You let me wonder you
Into a myth
That I
Missed
Identify
Please identify
If it's me you want,
Standing by your side
Identify
These tears of mine
Am I lonely? or am I just alive?
Am I lonely? or am I just alive
So happy he is showing Natalie Imbruglia some love.
He wrote the song

his demo version is better than this version
Version magistral. A mí me gusta. Obviamente la versión de Natalie es mejor.
Esta es un poco locria, un whisky de día viernes un poco golpeado/sad
Yes another proof that Smashing would be great with the voice of a real female singer -Identify is much much better in Natalie Imbruglia vocals.
Seule Natalie peut chanter cette chanson.Cette version par son créateur est affreuse...comme quoi.
Horrible

Soulless. The demo version is great, but not this.
